NordVPN: 100% Cashback for New NordVPN Customers @ TopCashback AU

440

My Tips: (Credit to @TA)

  • Best value is the Basic plan for 2 years (+ 3 extra months) A$115.83 (estimate).
  • Cashback is for the Basic plan only (VPN service only, no add-ons). NordPass password manager & NordLocker cloud storage are ineligible for cashback. Plus or Complete plans have these add-ons that are ineligible for cashback.
  • Choose a country with no GST e.g. Christmas Island. GST is ineligible for cashback.
  • Use a new email address for NordVPN if you have purchased before. The same TopCashback account and same payment card are fine.
  • Pay with a card without international transaction fees. If using PayPal AU, there could be a currency conversion fee from PayPal AU. These fees are not eligible for cashback.
  • If your order doesn't track, please cancel and request for a refund from NordVPN within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

To ensure tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get 100% Cashback" pink button to the NordVPN website, use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback can only be earned by customers opening a new NordVPN account. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is eligible on the VPN service only. Upsold products like NordPass & NordLocker are ineligible for cashback.
  • NordVPN is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on payments made with Crypto currency.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • NordVPN orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the 'get cashback' button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If any part of an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

    Thank you for sharing OP.

  • Hmm, how does NordVPN work in China atm?

    • never use big brands, but you can use like Mullvad pretty consistent.
dont do Astrill expensive and Sh#$

    • Use 500 ml

    • It doesn't work. That's no VPN that works in China.

The great firewall is the greatest firewall in history.

No VPN would work doesn't matter what protocol. They also block you pretty fast if it works for a short while

I tested Nordvpn, Purevpn, Tunnel bear etc

They don't work never connect even under obfuscate mode

      • was in China in early July, SurfShark and ExpressVPN worked regularly depends on different timing. We wer using Samsung A35 and z Fold 5.

        PureVPN worked 1/5 time..

        NordVPN, PrivateInternetAccess never worked.

    • set up your own vpn at home.. I just use an Asus router that has VPN server functionality built in..

      • -1

You will get banned for that IP address… And don't do this as you make other users in the same pool unable to access China sites

  • +1

@Ice009 In case you require, 100% cashback is on :)

    • Thanks for looking out for me. I'm going to try giving this a go on my next day off if nothing comes up between now and then (two days time). Would the offer still be on by Thursday?

I just don't know how to do it as I've got tabs open in my browser that I don't want to close. Do you really have to close all tabs and disable all extensions, or just the add tracking extensions? If so, could I just download a portable version of Google Chrome or something else to use for the cashback?

And how does the purchase work through the app? Would that be easier if I downloaded the app on my Android phone? How do you go about purchasing through the app?

        Hello again

Would the offer still be on by Thursday?

        Yes.

        • Sign up to TopCashback if you are new. Please note there is no sign up or referral bonus for VPN purchases. (You can place your first order for a non-VPN purchase if you wish)
        • Download the TopCashback AU app on your Android phone. Log in.
        • Search NordVPN, click the "Get 100% Cashback" pink button to the NordVPN website (not NordVPN app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.
        • Your last click is from TopCashback. You sign up to NordVPN when you type in your email address.
        • Please refer to 'My Tips' in the post description before you proceed. Choose the basic 2 year (+ 3 months) plan and a GST-free country.
        • Are you a TCB rep?

          • +1

@Gav: No. The TopCashback rep is tightarse.

I have posted many TopCashback, ShopBack and RIP Cashrewards offers. I use both TopCashback and ShopBack.

        • I just did the purchase via Chrome Portable on desktop with no extensions or anything installed. I think everything went OK.

Where does the cashback tracking show up in Topcashback, and usually how long do I wait to see if show up (what's the average time it shows for you?)?

Edit : It tracked. Awesome. My first Topcashback purchase. Gives me confidence to start using it more now.

Out of all the cashback apps, which are the best/most reliable ones to use?

          • +4

@Ice009: Awesome! Use the same next time you shop as it worked.

Out of all the cashback apps, which are the best/most reliable ones to use?

The 2 cashback sites that OzBargainers use are TopCashback and ShopBack. I've used both in the last few years.

You have joined TopCashback which seems to be the most similar to Cashrewards where you moved from.

Here is a comparison table I just created. Hope this helps.

@trixieb: Thanks. That's great to know the differences and which two to use. I'll have to bookmark this post. Hopefully it helps others too.

  • +1

Just to clarify, adding something like '+nord2' to my gmail should be considered a new email, right?

    • +2

Yes a plus at the end or period "." anywhere in the email address.

      • *see below 👇🏻

    • +3

A + (plus) sign creates an alias account off the main email address
A . (period) creates a whole new email address

      • Is this a general gmail thing or a NordVPN thing?
What's the difference between a whole new email and an alias, for general cashback purposes?

        • @sssx It's general. Please note it only works with gmail. Have a read of the comments here and here. I haven't tried this.

          • -2

@trixieb: Yeah I know the + and . features of gmail, but not the specifics of one being an "alias" and one being a "new email address"… I want to know if that differentiation is a gmail thing or NordVPN thing…

      • I'm going to try this if I can get a repurchase of something I already have (maybe with Surfshark if there is a 100% offer).

I haven't used Nord before, so I don't need to with this one, but I am going to try this if I try to get an offer of something I've already bought before like Surfshark.

As for the + and . , I always thought that you can still get the emails redirected to the same email address. So if you use a period, then you won't receive the email if you haven't created that email address?

  • How often does the cashback fail to track ??

  • I downloaded the topcashback app on my android and the app is in another language?

    • @verden Please uninstall the app. Download the TopCashback Australia app again. Change the language settings/region to Australian. It may have been inadvertently changed to another region.

Someone encountered this and mentioned here.

    Is TA online?

My purchase : A$115.83 (Christmas Island, no GST)
Basic (new) account, no add-ons, no extras.
    Tracked within 10min.

But TCB tracked at $109.14 (as if TCB assumed it had GST? But it's not quite 10% gst, I'm confused)

    Is it tracking at 94%?

    • So you are out of pocket by $6.69… hmm

      • +1

        94% isn't 100%

        • +1

@dangerdanger Unfortunately there is a currency conversion fee from NordVPN to TopCashback as NordVPN processes in USD. However NordVPN displays the prices in AUD for Australians (or local currency).

Check your TopCashback account. It will be 100% cashback on the amount that is tracked that NordVPN reports to TopCashback.

This is the same at all the cashback sites and other 100% cashback VPN orders (usually processed in USD). You can check the history of 100% cashback VPN offers on OzB.

From T&Cs and in the post description:

NordVPN orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.

          • +2

@trixieb: So choosing Christmas Island = no 10% GST, but 6% Nord-tax. Lol

              • @trixieb: Official currency of Christmas Island is AUD (!). Aud —> USD —> AUD = 6% to Nord
Maybe using USA, Nord will only pocket 3% (as it's USD —> AUD reporting to TCB)

Prob worth removing Christmas Island from your post

                • @dangerdanger: You can choose another tax free country but it would be the same outcome as per previous comments on 100% cashback for NordVPN. I have chosen a different tax free country and it's a similar small discrepancy (depends on exchange rate).

As mentioned, NordVPN processes in USD but reports to TopCashback AU in AUD. It displays the prices in your local currency (AUD for us).

You probably would have to live in USA and use TCB US to get 100% cashback.

You cannot use a VPN to purchase as cashback may not track.

If you are not happy to pay $6.69 for 2 years and 3 months of NordVPN, you can cancel and request for a refund within 30 days.

                  • +1

@trixieb: The profit from PureVPN cashnack will have to cover for the cost of Nord, as nord is better.

                    • -1

                      @sintro: Agreed.
                      So the deal isn't 100%, it's $6 for 2 yrs and 3 months
                      Don't get me wrong, $6 for 27months isn't bad, but it isn't what's described

                      • @dangerdanger: As mentioned earlier, cashback is 100% on the amount tracked as reported by NordVPN in your TopCashback AU account. All cashback sites exclude fees and taxes as stated in their T&Cs.

The cashback sites describe the % cashback in this way, less the variable fees/taxes that are as given. (It's also the same with the 130% profit cashback on the PureVPN offer, less the fees/taxes.)

There is a currency conversion fee as NordVPN processes in USD which would vary depending on the exchange rate at that time. Today's tracked amount can be different to another day's tracked amount. The small discrepancy of around $6 you mentioned can vary.

I have seen the exchange rate fluctuation day to day from buying VPNs with cashback and comments in my VPN cashback posts.

Thanks OP, paid $115.83 cb tracked $110.59. That $5.24 works out to 95.48% cashback for you weirdo cheapskates that want to complain about a few dollars.

    • +1

Thanks so much. Appreciate your support.

    • Kind of like this?
A few dollars goes a long way for many people, add up all those dollars for NordVPN and it makes a tidy profit for them.

    • -3

@tightarse can you please confirm cashback is set to 100% on TCB's end? While I do expect some currency fluctuation, there has been little movement recently, so I'd expect it to be no more than around $1-$2 instead of $5+ (assuming NordVPN is using the same currency conversion with customers and yourselves).

      • +2

@Gav TA replied to the same question asked here.

The small charge with NordVPN 100% cashback has been around around $6+ with a GST-free country and payment card without international fees (without using PayPal AU). It's also a similar charge for the 100% cashback at both ShopBack and RIP Cashrewards. It seems to be how NordVPN reports to the cashback sites.

All VPN offers from cashback sites seem to have this discrepancy as commented here.

  • I wonder how long until Age Assurance/GovID will be required to purchase VPN services.

  • How long does this take to track?

    • +2

Mine took 20 mins or so.

      Thanks OP!

    • Over 20mins still waiting…

Edit: Tracked in 44 minutes. Used desktop firefox with no firewall and vpn

  • PSA for anyone who took up the last 100% NordVPN offer via cashrewards you should have now received your cashback early and can cancel within the remainder of 30 day window for profit

if you still want NordVPN reorder with new email address and this deal

  • +1

My Nord subscription just lapsed, so this was perfect timing for me. Thanks OP!

  • +1

got it, needed a specific country no others providers had. Thanks.

  • +1

Paid $115.83, cb tracked $110.55. The email+nord(at)gmail trick worked perfectly.

  • I've followed the steps above and my CB didn't track, it's almost an hour now….
Shall I raise a claim or just cancel the order ?

    • Please wait a few more hours as it may take longer than an hour to track.

With VPN orders, it is better to cancel for a refund from NordVPN. There is a risk of rejection from NordVPN with a claim.

You can buy again. Use a new email address for NordVPN. The same TopCashback account and same payment card are fine.

      In OP:

If your order doesn't track, please cancel and request for a refund from NordVPN within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee.

      • Thanks, I will till tomorrow and then cancel if it doesn't show up.

      • So it's still not tracked for me, but I contacted NordVPN support and he confirmed that he can see the transaction ID and that this means that the cashback is tracked from their side, opened a ticket with TCB and they put it on hold to start it after 7 days.
Shall I cancel and do another transaction? or wait since NordVPN confirmed that they can see the CB tracking?

        • The recommendation from the rep has been to cancel and ask for a refund from NordVPN, in case of rejection. This is the same for any VPN orders.

If you reorder, please close the claim as the tracked order may be declined.

As mentioned, if you buy again, use a new email address for NordVPN. The same TopCashback account and same payment card are fine.

The NordVPN offer expires today 11:59pm AEST.

  • Tracked fast and shows in TCB, do we know how long it stays pending? Would it wait until the 30-day money-back guarantee period to pass to change to confirmed?

  • So I purchased before the deal expired, but it hasn’t tracked. Is it worth completing a missing cashback claim? Thinking of just cancelling and going through the ShopBack deal which is the same thing anyway.

    • +1

It's not worth completing a missing cashback claim. It could go either way. It's not worth risking it. Just cancel now to avoid disappointment down the track when it comes back rejected
