Private Internet Access (VPN) 100% Cashback on 6-Month & 2-Year Plans for New Private Internet Access Customers @ TopCashback AU

530

My Tips:

  • The 2-year plan would be the best value (A$75.14).
  • Cashback is for the VPN service only (no add-ons).
  • Use a new email address for Private Internet Access if you have bought before.
  • If your order does not track or you're not happy with Private Internet Access, please cancel and request for a refund from Private Internet Access within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible only on 6-month and 2-year plans. Cashback is ineligible on all other plans & products, including any upsold items.
  • Cashback is only eligible for New Private Internet Access Customers. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Private Internet Access is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Private Internet Access orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Mod Edit: From Rep - Ends 23:59 AEST July 20

    On 26/06/2025, I bought with TCB's 100% cashback offer:

    • Tracked in about 1 hour & 15 minutes.
    • Bought the 2-year plan for $75.14.
Made no difference to price when I chose a GST-free location (Christmas Island).
    • Cashback is $70.64.
    • Net cost $4.50.

How good is PIA? I signed up to ExpressVPN last month during their 100% cashback offer and been struggling to get decent speeds, BBC iPlayer, Netflix, etc degrade in quality really heavily….and I've never had any issues without VPN.

      • +2

I've used PIA for years but I don't really use it for all my devices. I primarily use it for my openvpn transmission connection for uh… Streaming…??? Lol.

So I couldn't tell you if latency is a problem, but speeds wise I can usually max out my 250 down connection, but when I was on gigabit, it wouldn't really go above 300-400 down.

That should be enough for straight bandwidth but it's always going to increase latency too. Most streaming should be fine but I wouldn't game on any vpn..

        • Cheers, I just tested it and with OpenVPN on my Gigabit connection its 300-400 down and with WireGuard it's 600 - 700 down.

      • +1

It's been solid, used it for years

Except for last night when wireguard protocol died for most endpoints on android for some reason

Browser extension is totally broken on the browsers I've tried (Edge/Firefox/Chrome), proxy errors after a few minutes and have to change locations to get it to work, only to break in a few minutes.

The subreddit is full of unanswered posts about it, and the support agent admitted to me it's a known issue and gave me a refund.

Apps seem to work fine though.

    • Once it shows pending in TCB I’m safe to assume I’ll be refunded the $70?

  • +6

Not sure this is it but by the end of the year many OzBargainers will want a good VPN if Australia’s eKaren makes personal identification mandatory to use any social media including YouTube.

    • That and self-hosting Mastodon or whatever so their kids get some sense of being online before they get thrown into it at Uni

  • Has anyone had success using this with LG WebOS TVs with netflix Turkey?

Some vpns offer smart dns where putting the dns into the wifi settings means you can bypass the geolocking.

How does PIA compares to NordVPN? Been on NordVPN for years now.

  • Anyone had luck tracking using the + gmail trick when you've had an account on that same email?

    • Would like to know
I’ve just changed my email on my current account to something else and hoping this will be enough…

  • +2

    thx mate! tracked $70.25

preliminary experience: quite fast . seems less latency compare to NordVPN.

  • Do they have a kill switch?

    • +2

      Yeah

  • +2

PIA still supports torrenting, so great for port forwarding.

You can sign up and merge the new account with your old account if you reach out to them online or by email as well.

Does it affect cashback? Perhaps request after cashback is paid.

    • If you're an existing customer, what are the steps to sign up for a new account? Do you need a different email / credit card to your existing account?

      • +2

For cashback to be eligible as a new customer, you need a new email address for PIA VPN. Not sure about the payment card for PIA but the same payment card hasn't been an issue for NordVPN and PureVPN. It's probably fine with PIA.

        • Might give it a go, my existing account expires at the end of the year.

  • +2

There's only one person who's ever paid full price for PIA. And he also bought a WinRAR licence.

  • I only see the 3-year and 3-month plan available. Is that one eligible for cashback? I cannot find the 2-year plan when I click on the link.

Tracked within an hr but cashback about $70 so $5 out of pocket. Still a good deal.

  • +1

Tracked in about 1 hour 10 mins. It states purchase $70.89 cashback $70.88. I actually paid $75.14 but hey whatever, Im just glad it tracked. Works out to be about $5 as others have said. Thanks OP.

The difference is probably the currency conversion fee from USD to AUD for A$75.14. PIA doesn't offer the option to pay in USD for Australians.

The default currency for the VPN companies seems to be USD. Cashback is not eligible for the currency conversion fee. Otherwise it is 100% cashback for the actual cost less fees.

      • Ok cool, I was waiting for a new sale so I could integrate it into my unraid server, qbittorrent, prowlarr etc. Cant go wrong for $5.00 do you have any idea on how long it takes to actually have the option to transfer the funds back to your account? 2 weeks? 5 weeks?

        • Cashback for PIA is paid in about 12 weeks. You can see the estimated payable (12 weeks) when you click "+" on the transaction.

  • I’m planning a trip to china later this year, anyone with experience using these guys in china?

Worked fine in China for me (Dec 2024)

  • Ever wonder why these VPNs offer their services for free? PIA is owned by Kape Technologies:

Kape Technologies is an Israeli cybersecurity firm that has gained significant attention for its acquisitions and operations in the virtual private network (VPN) industry. The company, based in London, has a strong Israeli connection, with its owner, Teddy Sagi, being a prominent Israeli businessman. Sagi, who is estimated to be worth $6.4 billion, has a long history of working closely with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and is rumored to be extremely close to Israeli intelligence.

  • I purchased about 24 hours a go and still seeing the cashback state as pending. Posts here indicating they are getting it through in under a couple of hours? wondering if I'm likely to be declined or not tracked properly and I should be reaching out for a refund.

    • I purchased about 24 hours a go and still seeing the cashback state as pending.

Cashback that is pending means it has tracked. TopCashback/PIA has a record of your purchase.

Posts here indicating they are getting it through in under a couple of hours?

All who bought and tracked in this offer would show pending as you mentioned. Cashback is not confirmed or paid yet for anyone. Cashback is estimated to be paid in about 12 weeks. You can see the estimated payable (12 weeks) when you click "+" on the transaction in your account.

wondering if I'm likely to be declined or not tracked properly and I should be reaching out for a refund.

You mentioned cashback is pending so it has tracked properly. You don't need to ask for a refund.

I purchased and the cashback tracked. I then turned off auto renewal. Received an email titled We're sorry to see you go - We've received your request to cancel your subscription to Private Internet Access, and we fully respect your decision. While we understand not all users need constant VPN coverage, there are many great reasons to use a VPN while maintaining an online presence bla bla

    Would that affect my cashback?

the post said "You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback" - do I have to "receive" cashback or have it tracked?

    • Same here—I read through the T&Cs and it looks like we’re eligible, but I’m still considering cancelling just to play it safe. Not totally sure what to do yet!

      • +1

@levqchi @sydney rider I wrote to cancel auto-renewal after cashback is paid as a reminder. It's not an official term from TopCashback.

Not specific to PIA but there are comments here of people cancelling auto-renewal to VPN subscriptions (before cashback is paid) and still receive cashback. I cancelled auto-renewal subscription with one of the VPNs last year when I was new to cashback/VPNs (after joining) and received cashback.

You have cancelled the future subscription when plan expires. You would still retain the current subscription that had been paid for.
