Just wanted to share a small personal project,
I like beer and bang for my buck also I wanted to save some time finding whats on special with the major retailers. So I made a small service that pulls all the specials so I can have it in a glance. Still in early stages but thought some of you might also find it useful for your weekend beer runs!

What retailers would you want to see added next?

Looks good! Add filtering to show cases 16 vs 24 and you'll be onto a winner.
Aye! I hate 16can cases.
Agree 100% but filtering should include:
Each
4pk / 6pk
case of 16 / case of 24This important filters are missing on the major retailers web sites so might be difficult to pull.
Alter they do give prices for each, pack and case.
Love it mate, well done. Would be good to be able to filter out the single bottles and/or slide the price range from both directions.
Great work. A "Case" or "Slab" filter will work.
And something so I don't have to waste a second of my life on Craft beers.Nice. A unit price comparison would be a good sort. I don't care if the $9 per single is 60% off but do if the case price is 60% off.
Thought you would be after a Keg
Nice
Price per mL or price per bottle would be good.
I bought some hard cider the other night and they are 2.4 standard drinks per can. I was feeling sick after just two of them. $18 for a pack of six.
Very solid power to weight ratio.
Thank you so much fellow "Barginers", will look at doing continuous improvements on this
And it would be good to see the current cheapest carton of 24. Maybe be a banner or box on the front page?
And maybe a filter by type? Lager, pale ale, stout etc.
I'm interested in any IPA at a good discount, but it can be hard to find them mixed in with everything else as they are never the cheapest.Look at me writing my requirements as user stories, my BA would be proud.
As a booze hound
I want to filter beer search results by type
So that I can easily find discounted IPAs or other specific beer types without sorting through irrelevant options.AC
Scenario: User filters beer search results by type to find discounted IPAs
Given the user is on the liquor price comparison website
And the website displays a list of beers from Australian online liquor stores
When the user selects "IPA" from the beer type filter
Then the website displays only IPA beers
And the results are sorted by price, highlighting discounted IPAs
And the user can still see key details like price, discount, and retailer for each IPA
I miss Boozle… 😞
It doesn't take into account storewide sales such as Liquorland 10% off, or $10 off $30 spend…
I'm curious about your back end setup. Where do you run the process that scrapes the specials; edge function, local machine, vps…?
first thing I clicked on isn't showing that price on Liquorland website:
One Drop Double Fruited Smoothie Sour Can 440mL
Liquorland
Pack of 4
25.00
Was $45.00
Save $20.00maybe its to do with the location, some specials are state specific, I can see it from my end (https://pasteboard.co/RdctmnKr0sJM.png), which state are you in?
Is there a way to set by location? As not all beer brands are available in each state, particularly in Tasmania + sometimes specials seem to run by location.
QLD. One drop is usually very expensive up here. Might need a location option.
Lowest price per litre for true alcos
Yeah, thats one of the things I'll look at doing, its been in my mind everytime I browse a store LOL
This is awesome. Good job!
Hops makes scents. Cheers.
