Hoka Speedgoat 6 $179.99 (was $289.99) + Free Express Delivery @ The Athlete's Foot

190

Popular shoe for hiking and trail running. This is one of the only shoe brands that I have to go wide in & half a size down compared to eg. ASICS so beware of buying unseen if you haven't worn HOKA before. Usually $290 and lots of sizes & a few different colours available, I rarely see the wide sizes go this cheap.

People pay to wear that atrocity?

  • -1

yeah not very impressed with my first (and probably last!) Hoka

it's alright, but started falling apart quite soon, in less than 2 years

might as well go cheaper in this case

this is a bad assessment for shoes.. or anything in life. some ppl run 150-200k a month, shoes would last about 6 months for them. 2 years is good for a pair if you run them regularly. i still have my speedgoat 5 since may 2023 and have been 750km. still going good when i want to do trail runs,

YMMV just saying that Hoka is over priced for what they are - in my opinion !

Some people will downvote you if you don't sing praises for their favorite brand/product.

some ppl run 150-200k a month

        Calculates intensively

It looks like I ran 0 KM in the last month decade.

I've had the speedgoat 2s and speedgoat 4s. Both have lasted circa 1500km. I run trails in the Perth Hills and Manning Park regularly and would rate the speedgoat almost unbreakable.

    • 2 years! Damnnnn. That's thousands of km..

      • maybe just over a 1k my rough estimate ..

        • +1

That's really good for a top end running shoe

  • Is there a chicken option ?

    • +1

Nope, but if you switch colors and buy it at full price, its the sheep option.

      • Rather go for the vegan option and stick to my kayanos.

  • Yes. Looks a bit… ordinary.

But I find that Hoka in a wide (2E) fitting is the most reliably stable platform for my hard-to-please feet. Price is a challenge (as are some of the looks) but there you go.

    Thanks OP.

  • The speedgoats are wider than the other hokas, might be worth trying in store.

  • Have put 383kms on these. Can be a bit firm but otherwise love them. I'll be running 50km on them in a few weeks.
