So I realised that I don't really need 50/20 internet speeds I can probably go a tier down or so but can't seem to find a good plan to switch to.
Here is my situation I'm with tpg NBN fttn 50/20 unlimited right now plus a $5/month landline which I know sounds silly in 2025 but my senior citizen household users still request it so we have that unavoidable little setback.
But I'm wondering if I can do better than $80 per month for 50/20 I think I can drop a tier down.
Is there something in the $60/month tier nowadays or something cheaper I don't want any 12 months reduced pricing then it basically gets more expensive than $80/month.
I miss when the old ADSL or ADSL2 days when there was great cheap unlimited days.
Is there anything good value for now.
I rarely need more than 25mbps these days at worst it's just two people using YouTube and maybe one person gaming max.. I know 12/1 would cripple us so have to get the next best thing above that.
What are the options these days or is 50/20 really the cheapest we can get.
I would love to go Felix mobile for mobile and PC usage but then my housemates would be out of internet and there are just old and useless they depend on me for everything so I'm just trying to cut a few dollars here per month to save to go to some food budget bill.
Am I cooked?
edit update: September 25 2025 went with Carbon Comms $49 per month 25/10 nbn plan and seems to be working pretty nicely now no difference in usage i think if i were to try a lower plan where upload is barely 1mbps then i would experience problems personally so this is a good compromise middle ground for me since i get to save $30 bucks a month which for a minimum wage worker is huge! that is like 2 hours of work saved per month or 1 full day of work per year.. hmm what shld i do with my extra 1 day of work income per year

25/4 Mbps $46p/m for first 12 months then $59p/m
