  • There's no 7 hybrid for that price.

    • Edited title with correct model, thanks for pointing it out.

    • 40k for the ev its not exactly ground breaking pricing its pretty much the same price as the BYD atto 3 in comparison.

      • A bigger car for $5k less is the same price lol

I have been holding out on a price drop on the Tiggo 7 phev. I didn't expect it would happen so soon

    • +5

I got one about a month ago and I have been pretty happy with it, still waiting for some accessories from the dealer

      • How much did you get off the RRP?

      • +1

How much real world ev range do you get?

        • +1

My partner drives it for about a week on ev mode not sure what her distance is

So you’re telling me, they are knocking two grands off on September eleventh?

    • +1

      give yourself an uppercut funnyman

    • +4

      Still too soon

      • +8

Yep! Gotta wait 3 more days!

    • +2

They're saying it was an inside job.

    • +1

I'm laughing way too hard at this. 😂

  • +3

    Petrol Variant is 7.3L/100km (claimed)
    Hybrid Variant is 5.4L/100km (claimed)

    • +6

      and you paying extra …
for Tiggo 4, $5000-$6000 more to get 1.9L/100km saving on Hybrid
not sure this saving is for everyone

    • +5

If you doing urban driving then its more like 9 for petrol

    • The point is that you can get 0L for short daily commute with EV only mode.

  • Is full size spare an option?

    • You don't need a spare where you're going with this

  • +4

What's with the excessive badges on these? Chery 390T Tiggo 8 Pro Max Ultra+ with added Hydralucence.

    • +3

To make up for the missing 'R'

      • They actually changed a V to R in the name

    • ProMax, lol

  • -7

the resale on these is literally dead

    • +10

The only ones I can see on carsales.com.au are more expensive than this deal.

      • +22

Shhh it doesn't fit the narrative of the bogan revhead ozbargainer that loves his Hilux/Ranger/Commodore or the IT consultant on 400k a year driving a 1994 Camry

      • +3

Good luck getting a buyer to pay more for 2nd hand than brand new. Those car sales won't be moving at those more expensive prices…

  • +3

Compelling performance from the Tiggo 4 Hybrid. Not only fuel savings. I'm just not sure I could put up with the petrol drivetrain aesthetics, notice the way the petrol motor kicks in in Sport mode (carsauce review):

A lot of car for the money.

  • These needed that price drop.

Noo get a Dacia Duster, sorry meant Renault. It has manual gearbox, 2 years less warranty and costs $35k. Plus, it will feel you are back in the early 00’s.

    • +2

100%. Enjoy the car enthusiast thrill of a manual transmission while crawling forward in stop-start traffic

    • Plus its Euro and made in Romania. That alone makes it so much superior yada yada

    • +5

you say that as if Chery has a better brand reputation than Dacia. Dacia has a clean slate here, you have a short memory if you don't remember Chery's disastrous first attempt to enter the Australian market

    • I drive a koleos and really enjoy it

Never received my free movie tickets after a test drive. Who knows what other dodgy practices they follow when selling their cars

    • I didn't even get a test drive, just an email from the salesperson three weeks later asking which model did I want to buy…

    • I agree, had sent several followups with no response at all. Days ago received a text message apparently from the dealer manager, mentioned what my experience was and still ignored my comment and straight away went onto sales mode. The person who texted back said someone would contact me immediately. Nobody has yet and that was last Monday. What a disappointment. I am seriously considering replacing my now oldish vehicle but this experience has now made me think twice about their quality and customer service.

    • Was planning to do the test drive anyway and movie tickets gave me the push. Although Marvel fanboy since childhood comics, when I found out it's was Disney's latest Marvel abomination (crap casting, stupid ass plot and gender swapped Silver Surfer) so didn't even bother asking for them. Actually loved the first two FF movies, especially the cast and the awesome Silver Surfer, although the portrayal of Galactus sucked. Also got Father'S Day family gave me a double header of Naked Gun and Jaws 50th with cool motion seats, that they enjoyed as well. Sales rep was a lovely young man though!

  • Would dealers honour this if you placed an order a few days ago (and already paid a deposit)?

    • +1

Probably depends if they have allocated stock to you in Chery system, give them a call can't hurt.

      • +3

They should be able to cancel and reoder it. If not then bikies.

  • +1

Super hybrid for $30k is the sweet spot

  • -5

until China will support mass murderer Putin I boycott their products, sorry to drag politics here, but after bombing Kyiv and death of civilians I have to speak up, YMMV

    • Did you just furiously type that on your Chinese made phone?

I'd never buy a cherry car out of spite for missing an R among other reasons, but politics will never be a reason for me.

    • +1

Sure buy Israeli made cars. They are paragons of humanity!

    • +4

You're in luck. China do support Russia and Putin, so you can buy one now!

  • +2

Honestly great prices for those holding out. Wish there was still the FBT on PHEV vehicles to make it even sweeter.

    • I am going to keep holding out.

  • +1

Chinese brands cars are set to surpass Japanese and Korean ones within the next decade with their low pricing strategy.

  • +1

@Davbar24 any idea when the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid specs and price will come out?

    • +4

Waiting on Tiggo 10 Pro Max Ultra Signature Plus.

      • Super enhanced hybrid?

  • Does this make the tiggo 4 hybrid more worth than the petrol variant ??

  • +3

Capped price servicing cost comparison. Another cost to add to the break even calculations.

    • Cheers for the info. A very expensive 72 month service for the super hybrids! Wonder why so much.

      • +1

Being a PHEV, it is more relatively more expensive to service due to having both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor with battery.

        • Im tossing up between this car or the Jaecoo J7 SHS. The Jaecoo is cheaper with the serving and has an extra year warranty

          • +1

@FrankTT: Jaecoo has bad cabin noise. I test drove it.. shame as its great value for money

            • @U30004: Cheers for letting know. Did you test drive the Tiggo 7 phev? If so what's your thoughts please

              • +1

@FrankTT: Tiggo 7 phev is not noisy feels more glued to the road.. but definitely feels slightly less premium

                • @U30004: I agree, doesn't look as premium as the J7 SHS from the outside. The Tiggo 7 front design, mainly the grille is putting me off

                  • +1

@FrankTT: Yaa.. its a shame as it drives fairly well.
