      Good qn. I suspect you’d get 30% as SB is notorious for tracking incorrectly when it comes to brand specific upsizes.

  • This seems to be a "Up to 60% Cashback" on selected products only deal? No mention of 30% here or one their site for general items eg: Beer etc.

      Yep, looks like they finally got the SB app working with the BWS app.

        • Well, when you click through from the ShopBack app it goes directly to the BWS app now. There is also a banner in the Shopback app that says 'Appy deals' and the exclusions no longer says not to use the BWS app.

            I had to make sure i opened in a new tab to not lose the cashback.
            Lets see if this time actually works

          • @werdplaya58: We discussed this in May where you had a go at me. It was BWS that were saying to use the app but it wouldn’t direct you there. They were just slow at fixing their system like Optus are - testing inferior.

            • @chrisharry53: No, they recently updated their terms and conditions which specifically mention being able to use the BWS app. They also now advertise the 'Appy Deals' which can only be accesed in the BWS app.

              Back when we discussed this previously the Shopback information said to avoid the BWS app. It's a bit differrent when they are now actively directing people to something which won't work, wouldn't you agree?

              • @werdplaya58: I looked at our discussion before commenting here. At that time they were saying you could use the app by going from SB app to BWS app but it wouldn’t work.

                Anyway, it works now and that is good if there are any Appy deals you personally like.

  • I'm confused. It's 30% cashback, but there are items that are over 30% cashback? How does that work?

      30% is the upsized standard cashback rate. But there are specific items that qualify for a higher rate. The more confusing bit is why some of the items listed have a rate lower than 30%, not sure which rate would get applied.

      FYI there's been bad experiences previously with these item-specific cashbacks (such as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/887907) but maybe its better now

      Tracking is flaky as is, it's not worth the risk to void it. Just save it to buy two packs of Tim Tams instead.

    • yes and no. Just put in a dispute. Was told by the ref on here it should track, just takes longer, but it has been 72 hours now

          Dunno but I wouldn't just be safe.

          Perhaps it's changed but look at the other recent deals. The Appy deals didn't apply because you weren't meant to use the app.

      Would have expected it to track by now. Mine at midday only took 16mins to track & received email notification. I used Firefox.

  • Just realised I accidentally ordered through the app

    Opened shopback, clicked shop now which then automatically opened the bws app.

    Should be ok? Or cashback ruined

    • The rate just before this one went live was 5% cashback for iOS and Android app purchases - so I guess it implies they support app tracking

      • So far it hasnt tracked. Normally it will track within half an hour.
        Never had any issues except the xx item 40% rest 2% type cashbacks. Dont try these anymore.

  • Ordered 5-6 hours ago. Still haven't received email that have been tracked. It's been like that for my past 3-4 orders in the past few weeks using my mobile shopback app. Never had issue before but recently not been tracking. Really pissing me off especially now Cashrewards is closing. I preferred them than SB.I double checked my Shopback setting and confirm Location 'Always' and Allow Tracking is on. So not sure what else i need to do for them to track it.

  • I ordered through SB app that directed to BWS app….I did this on purpose to see if it tracks….as it says appy deals quality it means you would have to use the app to use them….the click activity showed, so I will see what happens

    • Me too. Shopback redirected me to the app (whick it previously never did), now I'm left hanging on whether or not it will track.

      Does anyone know how to force the shopback app to redirect you to a browser instead of the crappy app (or do I have to actially delete the app)?

    Like a few other posters above, I've tested out using the BWS app via Shopback app.

    Still hasn't tracked yet after a few hours.

    But FYI, in the cashback tips provided by Shopback it does explicitly say you can use the app now:

        Yeah nothing tracked for me yet. I DM'd the rep and flagged the issues experienced in this thread, which is why they've appeared below. In the DM thread ive tried to highlight that most BWS website purchases tracked instantly and all BWS app purchases didn't track at all.

      @bogstation That means you'll only have TCB or nothing. It would be easier not to worry about any of it and free your time and mind.

    The click history is there, with the appropriate time of order (plus a heap of other clicks), should be fine i gues.

      Same here, made 3 orders. 2 went via the website and tracked instantly. The third redirected me to the BWS app and hasn't tracked.

      Shows in click history and says can't submit a claim until 13th Sep

    Checked out with the BWS app via the SB app last night at 8pm and still no tracking, also used this for the $5 bonus for $40 spend challenge @gotyourback

    • sometimes BWS orders take a little longer to show — tracking can take up to 2 days. Since you ordered last night, it should pop up soon ✅ Once the main Cashback comes through, your $5 bonus will follow as well 🙌

        I wonder why shopback is now defaulting to redirecting to the app as opposed to the web browser.

        The web browser redirection seems to track in 20 minutes or so, whereas the app doesnt seem to track at all (with a possibility of a claim which may or may not be fulfilled).

        I have had a number of claims fulfilled, but then later be unfairly rejected - no justification - no recourse. So I would take it with a grain of salt if you have a claim fulfilled in this case.

        The BWS tracking used to work properly before when we used the bws website. Now it directs you to the BWS app - could be the issue.

    Didn't track, even after waiting the required full length time, what I presume to be 48hrs

    It's on my click history, lodged a claim, let's see if ShopBack/BWS do the right thing and actually pay out or not

    Already picked up, otherwise would have cancelled the order and not dealt with possible claim dispute being denied

      Next time, if order doesn't track, I definitely won't be picking up and just cancel it

    Now I can’t submit one claim (two were ok though)…it just keeps erroring out with “something went wrong”.

      Neither did mine purchased on my phone through the BWS app.

      I used my phone because it's generally been the safest bet to get everything tracking correctly. If they say it's okay to purchase through the BWS app, and the ShopBack app is going to open the BWS app, then they'd better make sure it works.

      Let's see if approve my claim.

      • same here. I don't know if anyone's tracked if using the SB app directing to BWS app. I did it for the first time this way to test it, but so far a dud. Click history is correct, had the banner when I clicked through saying it would earn SB, but still no sign. Did a claim a few minutes ago

    • So clicked on BWS today and now the link directs to the website, not app, and there's a big message saying ONLY PURCHASES ON BWS WEBSITE QUALIFY.

      So presumably ShopBack can't track to the BWS app.

      • The thing is, for this deal they specifically said in the cashback details that you could use the BWS app and that is what they were directly linking to. And I have screenshots confirming this.

            @VladImpaler: All good sorry, something about the all caps in your post - I felt attacked lol. You were just pointing out the tacit admission by ShopBack that it doesn't work (and probably never worked) with BWS app.
