    Bad deal

No. Not worth it when the M3 Air is not much pricier.

I didn't want to click. The link shows M3 Air with same spec as this M1 is $1094 at Officeworks.

    $777 would be nice.

      $666 would be fire.

  • Two years support left.

Well nothing will ever top the c64 supported since 1982 and still going haha.

Can someone from the 8gb ram brigade come in and help

    • -2

8GB is adequate, if you ignore the price tag.

but under 1000 for a new macbook isnt bad.

It is if you have the M2 16GB being cleared around the same price.

  • Will also get 999 rewards points

  • +2

Really needs to be sub 800 to even be considered brand new. Cheapest M4 with the JB deal was what 1297? M2/3 have been seen at/around this price. I'd nab at least an M2 for magsafe as well personally.

I'm happy to martyr if it means I can stop one more person from buying a 8gb mac in 2025.
It was already pushing it in 2020, and it's really borderline unusable in 2025.

If you need something to just watch netflix or ssh into something else then there are better options for 1000 bucks. Get an ipad. get a thonkpad. get 1000 envelopes and train a carrying pigeon.

Sold one for $300 last weekend, screen was scratched up and had pit marks on it.

too much to pay for an 8gb RAM apple silicon. when M2 with 16gb was around this price if not less (got one for the missus).

  • Terrible deal, price was similar on special after release.
For similar price get the M3 as posted above

    • It was a price error which the retail only honoured some orders

  • $500

  • No deal.

  • do they still make M1 ? Still making M1 is environmentally irresponsible from apple, that is like intel still making gen 8 CPU or Google still making pixel 5 phones. Understand they want to maximize profits but this is making e- waste, they are up to M4 and even an M1 laptop still needs battery, screen keyboard case, etc can’t cost much more for TSMC to etch an M3 or M4 cpu.
