So When Is The nbn FTTP and HFC Speed Upgrade Kicking in?

I'm with "More" through Commbank Yello rewards on a 250/50 plan and just ran a speed test expecting to see 750 down this morning but haven't seen a speed boost yet. Is this going to be rolled out in stages or has someone at NBN co just not pushed the big red speed boost button yet?

Edit after checking their (More's) website: Delays expected for nbn®orders
nbn® system enhancements are scheduled for 13/09/2025-15/09/2025. Orders will resume once the upgrade is complete.

    • I am with iinet, speed has not upgraded yet as far as I can tell after periodically resetting the nbn box and the router.

Did you get any notification from iinet for your scheduled upgrade?

          Notification email received last week:-

To recap, in mid-September you will receive a speed upgrade at no extra cost to take your current connection from NBN250/50 to NBN750/50, with estimated typical evening speeds of 640/42Mbps (7-11pm).

          What to expect

Your speed upgrade is scheduled to occur between 12am and 10pm on 14/09/2025.

During the upgrade you may experience a brief interruption to your service. Once completed, your speeds should automatically increase. If you’re not receiving the increased speeds post the scheduled upgrade, we recommend restarting your modem.

Follow up email received on Monday:-

Great news, your high speed nbn® upgrade is complete and you should now be able to access the faster speeds.

          • @trex: Yes, received the notification but it provided a broader window, between 14th and 19th.

            • +1

@Browsers: There should be a follow up email after the upgrade is done. If you don't get anything, it's likely upgrade hasn't taken place.

With AussieBB!! Mine went up from 100 to around 180 but no where near 500. Unsure what to do next.

      • 1) sob uncontrollably
        2) call them

        • 3) connect PC directly to NTD to test connection speed. Disable firewall and any antivirus software on PC before testing

  • I'm with More on 100/35 and only upload speed has increased. Tried restarting router and modem few times with no luck. Their support said they're upgrading in batches so could be anytime

    • If more management page shows you're on upgraded plan, try turning off ntd and router, wait 5 mins and turn it back on.

      • It hasn't updated on management page. Though i did requested change to their new 500/50 plan.

  • Fully reset both NBN box and your modems might help!

In my case there was a power outage in my area. The power came back after 2 hours and the new NBN speed kicked in. I didn't have to do anything

  • I'm with Optus NBN HFC still waiting for speed increase. Speed is still 100/20

TPG still haven't moved at mine, but others I know have had theres done. The ISPs have been pretty poor with comms.

  • I am with Exetel, was on 100/40, then a month ago or so changed to the Exetel One plan and have been on 500/50.

Is this going to change automatically to 1000/100 or am I doing a speed test 3 times a day for nothing haha

    I am with MORE NBN.
MORE portal showed that I was upgraded, but was still getting the old speeds.

I asked for an ETA on speed upgrade.
MORE TS replied "it will be by batches no exact date and time but you'll be notified. no exact time and date so far but it's on going."

I asked "should everyone be upgraded this week?"
MORE TS replied "possible no exact date yet"

    • Exactly same as you!

    • Thanks for the update - will wait patiently.

I'm with more too. They said people on 100/40 speed will be manually upgraded, one by one :D
The guy said will probably take 3 weeks. Those who are on the same situation should try to get a refund for this month as we're paying for 500/50 speed starting 14 September. It's ironic when they increased the fees back in July they didn't skip a day :D
Anyway, if it wasn't for the mortgage discount, I wouldn't stay with them for another day

  • With More: Was away for a few days. Tested and got the usual 80/20. Rebooted the mod/router - now 450/50.

    • Did you get any communication from them to say you've been upgraded?

      • +1

Got one few weeks ago that an upgrade will happen but nothing after that.

  • I'm with Dodo. Have to wait till 1st October. dang it

    • Same here, but upload is 50M now.

  • More nbn HFC in Brisbane, no upgrade yet and tried power cycling equipment last night.

  • Any one with DoDo get the update?

    • +1

Not yet. I contacted them and they said to wait.

  • I am with Optus 100/40 plan. No upgrade yet, and they advise up to 2 mths wait for processing!! Is it really that hard organizing the change?

  • Was scheduled on 14/10 for speed upgrade, did not happen. Just contacted Optus and told migration will now happen automatically with 2 months, no planned schedule and no real reason for backlog.
