    Now that's sustainable ;)

    • Good one! how do you do italics?

      • +2

Put an asterisk on each side of the word. I wonder if an italic asterisk is three in a row?

Nope, that just draws a line. Odd.

        • awesome i just figured out how to type in bold too! cheers mate

        • Snap, I just discovered that too. SWEEEEET!

        • Now to figure out how to underline! ;)

        • +1

why couldn't they just use a normal text thingy with buttons on the top for italics and stuff?

      • +7

        Lean to right when typing.

        • +7

And punch my keys out when typing in bold?

    • +1

Any idea if we can make multiple orders, I need more than 6 for my academic research ;). I reckon 1.99 is a fair price for a nice scenic glossy poster.

  • +3

Going by that lot I'd say the work experience kid found a few unopened boxes stacked out in the shed.

  • +5

How are these stickers good for the environment ?

    • +1

Awareness (aka: 'Spreading the Love') I assume.

    • +15

How is your comment good for this post?

  • +1

Thanks for the post. Ordered a nice poster.

  • umm… any guides to ordering stickers?

  • +3

I've always wanted a "Root Rot Fungus" poster for my wall.

  • Cannot find stickers… However there is a fridge magnet!

  • -6

Thanks. Requested 5 different posters which will gather dust somewhere in my home.

    • +1

Who remembers those Yamaha posters!!!!!! (?) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/37673

I still have the tube full of unused ones (but did use one: the Steward Copeland one)

    • -6

Anyone who downvotes this is too stupid to recognise obvious irony and should be denied their right to vote in actual elections.

  • Be better if they just made some educational apps with this stuff

  • +39

Im gunna Neg this.. Not because of the OP or the posters but because people will mindlessly order free posters just because they are free

Don't order these unless you really want them. Otherwise your doing the opposite to what these posters are trying to promote - Improving the environment

    Exhibit A

Thanks. Requested 5 different posters which will gather dust somewhere in my home.

    • +4

i was thinking this, because its posted on this website means it wont go to the right people and the people they do want to let know now will not

      • +15

Exactly! These should be reserved for schools and educational institutions. Not Click happy freebie hoarders

        • +2

Awareness is awareness though. Just look at this post, there's already been over 1000 clicks let alone the positive exposure SOME of the posters & downloads will get across the wider community. I completely agree with your sentiment however I don't agree with the negging sorry… but hey, what do I know ;)

        • +3

Yeah I'm not a big deal negger, but if more people read my comment because of the neg and think twice before requesting a poster, then that little red line has done its job :D

        • +1

          agreed

        • If you're not going to type your reason for the neg, pls don't vote.

          Edit: comment directed at fjalldway.

    • +3

I also agree with the point, it is disappointing what the word free does to people.

      • -2

        I knew I was right :)

        • Except that you're replying to a comment that is the complete opposite of what you said above.

    • Well it's too late now, 2008 clicks at this moments ….

      • Put a stop to this madness

  • -8

Thanks OP, ordered a few posters.

Not sure why I needed them, though

  • +3

Save the environment: please download rather than order a printed copy!

    • -8

      please download

      that uses electricity…

      • +5

Electricity you're already using if you're on the site.

    • +1

      Downloaded on 100% recycled electrons.

      • -5

How you do that Einstein ?

        • Solar Power… Electrons are recycled from the sun :/

        • -2

Yes n only around 10% of Australia house hold has solar panel, mean out of 3822 clicks only 382 MIGHT have solar panel.

        • Not wanting to get into the whole quantum mechanics/nuclear physics thing, but if you look at sub-atomic particles you will see electrons orbiting around a nucleus. Electricity is electrons moving from atom to atom. The electricity you use is not created by destroying matter, rather it is the movement of electrons between the copper atoms in the wire supplying your computer with power. So as each electron is being shared and re-used between atoms, it is 100% recycled.

And in case you didn't get the original quote, it was a play on "printed on 100% recycled paper".

  • Feral cat looks great. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered a couple, but as i actually am studying in this field, will come in use to me, even if fairly basic. Thanks

  • +1

I'm not going to neg this but I refuse to upvote it. "The Department of Sustainability" sounds like something the government doesn't actually need to be spending money on. I'll play no part in wasting taxpayer funds.

    • and it has a sort of doublespeak feel to it..

    • The full name is Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (DSEWPaC). It's basically the Department of Environment (hence the URL environment.gov.au) with some added responsibilities.

  • Some of those endangered possums look delicious, maybe I could use a couple of free posters to get the fire going then fry a couple up!!!

  • Random post for a freebie gets a + from me

  • +7

I'd like to thank the OP. I've ordered 6 posters, we have an 11 yo daughter who these will benefit greatly for projects and a newborn who may even get some value from in future years, we might even frame some of them for home decoration and education material in one. Bargain!

For me personally this is one of the better deals to come along in recent times.

Shame on people ordering for no valid reason. Don't be an arse, if you have no need for them don't order them please.

  • -1

Ordered A great battle and the feral map.

    Cheers!

  • +4

Wife's a teacher so these will probably come in handy to hang up around the classroom, she is doing a 'Wild Australia' unit with her class next term. Thanks OP!

edit* Based on comments from above, hopefully all the people ordering posters who don't actually need them haven't exhausted the supplies, since I have actual use for them!

  • Sweet! Ordered some for my building at work (Environmental Sciences at ANU).

    :D

  • These will be great for my nephews and I might learn something too. Thank you OP.

  • +2

Staff at the Office of Sustainability are likely freaking out about now

  • -8

perfect timing. ran out of firewood recently and no cheap alternatives around.

    • +1

There are thousands of trees down in QLD. If you want to help us clean up you can have all the wood you want.

      • the wood is OK but the paper burns faster and hotter (especially with printing on it). all good, ordered a bunch of the posters just waiting for them to arrive then I can warm the place up!

  • +5

Man, they aren't going to have any posters after this….
Terrible idea to post it here, they've been giving these out for free for years, I order one when I was in high school a decade ago. Oh well another thing ozbargained to death.

    • +2

      Yes, I agree.

    • +2

That is coming from someone like you????….double standard at best!….you have ordered 100's of watches from the hut and ruined it for every one here, go away!

  • I guess their purpose is to let people learn something and hope it will benefit the environment, like this one,

These will be great for my nephews and I might learn something too. Thank you OP.

That's a great idea. How many people will waste them? 5%? Just let them know, please dont order if you dont really need them.

    • Well this is ozbargain a site filled with obsessive horders and resellers; such as myself so I'd go with 99% will waste them.

  • I was hoping for a 'No Junk Mail' sticker… anyone know where I can get one?

    • Try your local newsagent or hardware store

    • Your local council

  • +2

To people who has ordered, how about re-gift them to school or some public sectors when you no longer need them?

  • +1

Precisely why there shouldn't even be a department of sustainability

There isn't a thing they have done right…

Think Green loans, think insulation, think inspections, and now this..

    Don't neg me , I didn't say Carbon Tax !

    • +3

      2GB…the power station.

    • +2

+1 from me I think you're on the money with your comment

  • -1

Is it sustainable if I order a bunch of posters then burn them outside my local parliamentarian's office?

    • I'll be watching channel 7 news to see how it goes :)

  • +1

Just ordered some for the boat people at Christmas Island Detention Centre

    • I wonder if its the shot of them on the roof tops burning stuff down? That would be "photographic"

    • 'boat people'?…. FFS

  • +1

These poster have been available for ages. In fact there are many government agencies that will give you stuff like this if you ask for it.

  • Could use a poster to cover cracks on the wall

  • +1

sorry, goota neg this as I agree with m0nkeycheese…

  • got them today!

  • Got them! Great quality!
