    Talk about inflation

I wonder how much other countries pay for this?
      Fraction of the price?

      • +2

Did you see the dishwashing tablets, big Finish pack in Germany was like €10 here they pushing $80 or something.

They literally just pick the highest number they can get away with, and the lack of competition means cartels all doing the same and not undercutting each other.

        • Wow that’s insane, the markup.

i just came back from Vietnam, massive 2 door fridge with tv screen from samsung $600 in a retail store, same thing here is $5000, just madness

          • @Headless: Priced according to average income in the country, but we do get ripped off more I reckon

            • @Dollar General: NZ have it far worse for fridges, fell over when i found out how expensive they are there, income less than AU too

        • I've switched to dishwashing powder in the last year or so and haven't looked back. Can't believe how much $$$ I was throwing away on tablets

        • Try out this.

          https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/northfork-…

Free delivery with one pass, commercial grade dishwashing detergent with all of the good stuff that they banned from residential formula's.

BE VERY CAREFUL HANDLING, IT'S STRAIGHT UP DRAINO but is much much much more effective than regular dishwashing tablets. Works out to about 8c / cycle.

Contains surfactants (banned from residential) but they're the most effective ingredient

          • @dizzhy: Unavailable. When did you last buy some?

            • @jastreb: About a month ago, showing as available for me for delivery & CC for VIC

  • 7x at $350 for 8000 bonus points this week, good deal

  • How Is this compared to the La Espanola Extra Virgin Olive Oil sold at Coles?

Moro 4lt is also on special at Coles for $45

    • +1

But is the quality on par with Cobram ?

      • +2

Probably not, but ALDI is pretty close to Cobram and $50/3L is its normal price.

      • +1

        Definitely not.
The brands from Spain and Portugal and Italy have been found to contain oil that isn't extra virgin, isn't cold pressed.
This is some years ago(the expose on Choice). You're taking a punt with them that they are indeed the real deal. Whereas Cobram is an open book in regards to their olives and pressings. You can contact them if unsure.

  • Is Cobram better than Moro?

    • +1

Spanish olive oil has always been fine IMO but I feel like the Australian oils are better, potentially a personal preference thing though

  • Unknown producer, but I saw today that ALDI are selling Australian 3L olive oil for $48. I've bought it before and it's fine, but no room in the backpack for it today.

  • +2

From what I've read, ALDI's Olive Tree brand is the same oil as Cobram's, I could be wrong though, just what I've read elsewhere.

    • It's pretty close.

    • I've heard something similar too. At this price, the Cobram is the same as Olive Tree's everyday price.

  • +4

I don't buy Spanish Olive oil….life's too short. The Cobram is superior in this case..

  • +2

    Oils ain’t oils

    • You know what i mean

      • When you find something better…switch to it

    • That's very slippery …

  • Costco have 4l for the same price.
Just came back from there.. but I thought it was still expensive…

    • Cobram or Red Island?

      • No I think it's Geo. Or good earth oils.
