Choose between nbn 500/50 or 1000/100 temporarily before 2000Mbps kicks in.

Customers signing up for the plan will initially be placed on a 1000 Mbps interim plan until the upgraded NTD (nbn connection device) is installed by a technician. Once the installation is complete and your NTD is upgraded, your service will automatically switch to the full 2000 Mbps plan.

Your invoice will also be pro-rated to reflect the interim plan, and a new invoice will be issued once the upgrade is finalised.

Check here to see if you are eligible for nbn FTTN/FTTC to FTTP.

In our context, a “new Superloop customer” means someone who:

  • Doesn’t currently have an active Superloop service in their name (broadband or mobile); and
  • Is signing up for a new service (not moving or changing an existing Superloop service).

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) and Static IP address.

Superloop use CG-NAT which works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month for a static IP address with nbn FTTP 2000/200 and nbn HFC 2000/100 (this also turns off CG-NAT).

$0/month for a static IP address with nbn FTTP 2000/500 (this also turns off CG-NAT).

Another warning to those unaware of superloop's draconian 30 day notice requirement for disconnection, and their intentionally painful cancellation process.

    • -1

      Just need to plan ahead…

    • +9
      1. Set a reminder for 5 months.
      2. Go on live chat saying you want to cancel.
      3. Superloop will try call you but don't answer.
      4. They will send a cancellation email.

Has never been an issue for me…

Has never been an issue for me…

How often do you cancel your Superdoop plan?

        • I cancelled once a while back, then about 6 months ago I switched from a residential plan to a business plan with Superloop.

Have also switched for a family member twice.

    • Just speak to a rep nicely to see if they can waive it. The rep waived it when I mentioned I wanted to move to Exetel (it is the same company anyway). More recently, another rep also helped me waive it when I wanted to move to another ISP.

  • $145 is competitive but I cbf churning away after 6 months. I'm going to stick with Leaptel. Saving $60 over 6 months is not worth the effort.

    • Superloop don't care how much you download

      • +1

        You're not wrong :)

      • Are you suggesting leaptel do?

        • +1

Absolutely they do. Owner of Leaptel has posted many times in Whirlpool about cancelling people that DL more than average. Anymore than 2-3TB a month puts you in their blacklist

          • +1

            @Bruceflix: Those are rookie numbers..

          • @Bruceflix: good to know… was considering the jump to leaptel but I hate knowing there's a hypothetical limit.

I'm not a massive regular downloader but there are times I do big numbers in a month

  • so if i login, and use my current avc while signing up will i get new customer prices?

  • +1

Is signing up for a new service (not moving or changing an existing Superloop service)

When I switched from a residentual to a business plan, it was treated as a new customer connection and I got another 6 months discount.

    • yeah i got it the other way

    • Yeah you should be able to switch between residential and business and get the promo price.

  • -1

With who is the cheapest 50~100 speed on the long run without the 6 months jumping around etc? Can't seem to find anything under $80-85.

One would think those speed prices will be cheaper now with faster options, but aren't budging :/

    Thanks in advance.

    • Do you have nbn FTTP or HFC?

      • -2

Eh, I'm happy with eaither honestly as long as it's a cheaper option. Not really crazy about right now speed, can wait till my stuff download.

        • +1

A little research goes a long way.

Step 1: Understand what FTTP and HFC mean
          Step 2: https://www.nbnco.com.au/connect-home-or-business/check-your…
Step 3: Find a plan (here) and sign up.

          • +1

@Daabido: The comment was edited it was written do I want 50 or 500 speed so I replied accordingly, nothing about fttc or HFC. By the way my connection is HFC.

        • +2

          lol

        • +1

can wait till my stuff download.

So your priority isn't to get stuff….

          • @jv: It's not a priority to get it RIGHT NOW!

is that difficult to understand or a problem or something in 2025? 🤷

            • @drazenm:

It's not a priority to get it RIGHT NOW!

Then why are you looking at 2,000Mbps plans?

              • @jv: It's bed time jv🤦

                • @drazenm:

                  It's bed time jv

                  For Wednesday… yes…

                  • @jv: It's Thursday.

                    • +2

@Twix: Yes, but I still need to get to bed for Wednesday

                      • +1

@jv: You need to sleep. Big game on Saturday.

      • HFC

        • +1

50/20 isn't good value unless you keep changing ISP.

Do you care about CG-NAT or need a Static IP?

          • @Twix: Nah, don't need cg or static etc. Yeah I see it's not a good value. They all want to push customers on higher end packages.

            • @drazenm: 50/20 $75/m ongoing @ Buddy Telco.

              500/50 $65/m for 6 Months ($80/m Ongoing) @ Arctel.
              500/50 $80/m ongoing @ Exetel.
              500/50 $85/m ongoing @ Neptune Internet.

              • +1

@Twix: Thanks Twix, will look into it 👍

  • +1

FTTP 2000/500 cheaper at Carbon Comms and no ABN needed.

Also the ongoing rate is cheaper at Carbon Comms for the other plans.

    • -1

      cheaper at Carbon Comms

Do they give you 10% discount for each referral ?

    • It depends on your requirements. There are other 2000/500 plans and no ABN.

      Carbon Comms.
Sydney only PoP and you will get higher latency if you live anywhere else.
IPv4 only and IPv6 is not available. Includes a Static IP address.

      Superloop.
      Local PoPs and lower latency.
      IPv4 and IPv6 is available.
Static IP $5/m extra for 2000/200 or 2000/100. Static IP $0 with 2000/500.

      • +1

Totally agree ref the more POPs with Superloop. That is the disadvantage with sll these smaller operators currently.

  • You end up breaking even going with Leaptel paying $155/m for 12 months. Plus GSL international routing, the choice is simple.

    • +1

Yeah that Leaptel deal is good if you are considered a new customer.

      • Who are you going to choose? Are you going 2Gb?

        • +1

I'm on 500/50 $69/m for a few more months. I will see what happens after that.

    • I have 1000/100 ABB and 1000/100 with Leaptel…..Leaptel is slower than my ABB. And i was also on Vocus and still faster than Leaptel. Maybe GSL is not what it use to be?

  • For the person who's getting these ridiculous 2gbps down, tell me, Why?

    • +6

      Because it is faster…

    • +1

The only reason I can think of is…. U like knowing u have the fastest speed. Haha

    • +1

I work from home and operate an online business from home. I need these speeds (especially higher upload speeds so I can upload large AV assets).

I could only get 2-3Gbps at my old office previously, now I don't have an office and can get the same speeds at home. Happy days.

  • After the hardware upgrade, can you switch back to lower plans or are you stuck on this?

    • +2

      Yeah you can no worries

  • does anyone know if you upgrade your superloop plan from 1000/ to 2000/ do you lose your cashback ?
