GSM Arena. Unfortunately no headphone jack.

    • +9

Headphone jacks are near extinction ☹️ . Surprisingly, this still gets a microSD card slot with 256GB storage.

      • +6

Jack will come back along with removable batteries.
Edit - Hey who negged me for stating a fact above haha.

        • I did , NEEEEEERRRRRRRD ⁉️😅

OzBargain is a tough crowd :(

        • Tozo has entered the chat…. :)

Sad. I love my headphone jack to use with my CCA CRA IEMs for cheap, hassle free* quality listening/ calls.

I've known the Edge series has dispensed with the jack for sometime though so haven't always gone a tier below.

      • hassle free excludes the 20- 120 seconds spend untangling the cord, from time to time.

Need to get the India-exclusive Motorola Edge 60 Stylus for the headphone jack, or the nerfed and price-jacked global variant Moto G Stylus 2025.

  • Why does the Zephy and Amazonite say 128GB storage on the heading? Although the description does say 256GB storage. Just worried choosing one of these colors will results in a 128GB version?

I want it so bad…. but my Motorola 30 fusion is still going strong :'(

Wait for the Edge 70 Fusion :)

      • You are right, ty ty

      • Edge 70? Pfft.

        That's so 2026.

        Edge 90 baby!

If I wasn't so happy with my Edge 50 neo from a similar pricing drop this time last year, I'd bite too. Such a good phone for the money.

Ditto, but I have a 20. Still running like new

    Thanks OP.

Needed a burner phone for my trip to HK.

    • +1

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a similar specced phone there?

      • +2

Need a phone to be working straight away with an overseas sim

      • No, there's 'Reasons' you take a burner phone into CN and HKSAR.

if you need the SIM, just get a HK eSIM account and download the HK eSIM before you travel.

Border/Customs Interception is a valid concern. As is preinstalled malware/bloatware.

        https://cybershack.com.au/consumer-advice/smartphones-made-f…

Phones sold in HKSAR, not just Mainland China can have manufacturer level malware/backdoors preinstalled now. Huawei/Xiaomi and some others are just mask-off unashamed. You might think it's evil - Clearly you are the kind of person the Ministry of Public Security wants to invite you to tea (interview/arrest)

This used to be limited to CN only versions of the phone, with CN specific carrier / 5G channels and so on, but the retail stores/corner stores will not have International ROM versions available in some stores/locations.

Web/Online delivery is an option if you want International ROM versions in HK, and, they'll often be cheaper than the retail stores. or come from the same location.

The majority of 'budget' phones in HK/CN are preinstalled with Malware/Spyware/Bloatware. Some of it's mandatory, some of it's ad-popups and Camera/QR intercepts that keep the camera open, sic. Budget Xiaomi/Huawei's are infamous - as they come preinstalled with forensic-malware from the Ministry of Public Security. It's a feature to save you time.

Since July 2024, Border staff, Police, Ministry of Public Security can sieze and intercept/install software on your phone. It isn't specific for returning Chinese - tourists, guests can also be intercepted as checking for 'battery banks' that don't have 3C certification for confiscation.

Which then leads to phone inspection (sic) if cooperative / random inspection is required.

Can someone confirm the 10% cashback at SB?

    • Also wondering

Thanks OP. Got one to replace my Pixel 7a with completely destroyed screen. However, google gave me a full refund for the Pixel 7a so it was still a great purchase :)

    • How did you manage full refund? Battery swell?

      • +2

They didn't even ask what condition it was, i just filled the form out and around 2 months later had around 750 bucks transferred into my account.

        • how long have you use the Pixel 7a?

          • @OhNoUShiz: I used it for probably 2-3 years, not sure exactly of the dates.

  • Much of a upgrade over pixel 6?

    • +1

Not particularly. Pixel 6 might be older but it was still a $1000 flagship phone. You will get a better battery and display with the newer Moto, but performance wise no and camera from google to moto will be a downgrade. You will also give up wireless charging, if that matters to you (but you will get much faster wired charging). You will still get updates on your Pixel 6 until next year as well and they will be more timely.

Maybe have a look at something like this site, just double check the storage/ram specs, as they can differ in different regions.

      • Cheers awesome many thanks ,ideally looking to stay pixel, hopefully the older drop a bit with the newer coming out

    @marshmall0w2 is this a good deal ?

  • +1

thanks OP, I've been waiting for this to come down

  • Does this have a curved screen?

    • +4

      Yes.

      Display Size
      6.7" quad-curved display

      • +4

        Thanks. Big deal breaker

    • isn't the Moto G75 a better phone allround, complete with flat screen too?

      • The G75 has an IPS LCD lower resolution screen, less RAM, weaker processor, worse cameras, slower charging and is older.

  • Charger sold separately?

    • +1

Or just use one of the ten you've already got. I prefer using old ones that don't fast charge so my battery doesn't heat up.
