Are AKG N9 Hybrid Headphones Any Good?

I need a new pair of headphones as my Sony xm3's are playing up in both wired and Bluetooth.

I want to use the headphones for gaming, occasional music listening, as well as watching movies (through Bluetooth), does anyone have any experience with the N9? Don't really care about noise cancelling, just want the best sound quality possible. Or would I be better off with something like the momentum 4?

  • You really missed the boat on that one - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/918887

There's a lot of comments in that thread though of what people think of them. The P100 mentioned in there as having better sound quality are $199 at the moment - https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/cambridge-audio-melo… (although other posts say differently - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/917966)

On JB's website they show in stock at 200 for me, I did see the P100 but can't find anything comparing them with the AKG's

      • Ah nice, seems pretty good then.

IMO if you don't use ANC at all then there are some other options out there, like these - https://www.centrecom.com.au/edifier-stax-spirit-s3-wireless…

Edifer always make great bank for buck stuff. Just depends if ANC is still a nice to have. Personally, I still leave it on with my XM3s just to be able to focus better on the audio.

They're okay… nothing mind blowing sound quality wise… mic quality is good. Have been told people on the other dont even know im driving it blocks outside noise.

The volume on them is also not that loud if youre into that had to boost with an equaliser to get the volume right for my preferences.

  • Damn i should have bought someone sold it for 160 second hand marketplace oh well will keep looking
