How is this better than an otterbox which can be had cheaper?

    • +1

      Otterbox isn't water/snow/dust proof.

    • But it's actually more expensive on ebay

    • +7

Just because YOU haven't heard of it doesn't mean its not a reputable brand. I know alot of people who work at snow resorts, on boats etc and this case is pretty much indestructible. If you can find a cheaper price then go ahead, neg it. If not, STFU.

Case is life proof but how about iphone?

    Crazy price for a case

I have a lifeproof cover and its the best one I have ever bought. My father in law dropped his phone in a bucket of water, picked it out of the bucket and kept talking. I have had an Ottorbox which Lifeproof is much better.

If it is genuine, definately worth the price

Sorry, i went to positive your comment and the phone button hit negative. Totally agree with u….lifeproof better than otterbox as i have owned both

$70 for just a phone cover… How is that a Bargain… Rather Get a $5 hard cover from ebay and it gives u the same protection…

I got one of those cover… dropped it in a bucket of hot water.. pulled the phone out and it was still working not a drop of water entered my phone…

They retail $99. Yes it is an expensive case, but bare in mind this case isn't for everyone. I'm going up to Whitsunday soon and ill be using my iPhone in this case snorkelling since its underwater up to 2m.

Here's the tech spec. Although the price sounds crazy, I think somebody needs it for extreme activities. eg. taking pictures under water.

    Dimensions: 5.4” x 2.6” x 0.5” / 137.5 mm x 67.1 mm x 12.2 mm*
    Weight: 1.05 oz / 29.8 g
    Water Proof: Fully submergible to 6.6’ / 2 m for 30 minutes
Dirt Proof: Sealed from dirt & dust particles – meets or exceeds IP-68 Ingress Protection Rating
Snow Proof: Sealed from snow & ice – meets or exceeds IP-68 Ingress Protection Rating
Shock Proof: Withstands drops from 6.6’ / 2 m – meets or exceeds MIL STD 810F-516

I think its concept is almost identical to OtterBox armour series' one (and InDepth series, maybe); perhaps we can easily compare the specs. BUT - OtterBox armour for iPhone5 seems unreleased yet. It's announced to be released 22 Feb on its website. So I'd like to say it's also a good idea to just wait until OtterBox armour's spec is published and then compare again, if you're interested in this sort of things.

Personally, it looks little bit insufficient for me - if it provided water proof some more, e.g. 7~8m for 1~2 hr, I would consider to buy this as I could use that for scuba diving.

  • On gumtree there are plenty of sellers selling the fake Lifeproof as genuine!! So buyer beware!

For $70 it's a bargain, considering I purchased one from Lifeproof last year for a Christmas gift $100! Thanks!

How would they tell the difference?

  • I have one of these and like them for the fact that they are one of the most unobtrusive of all the waterproof protective style cases. I.e. they are the least bulky of the lot. Ok price if it is a genuine case!

my phone is cheaper than this case

Then you can afford to drop it, I got the Defy+ for $99 which is water/dust/shock proof out of he box and looks better than an iPhone with this crap on it

  • I've gotten my lifeproof case wet heaps of times. The first time when it got drenched I nearly crapped myself.

I use it as a GPS/bike trip computer (cycle meter is an awesome app) with the lifeproof mount. Worth the investment. Only issue is that the cable for the headphones needed replacement after a while as I started getting the "single channel syndrome". Fairly pricey ordering from the US. Make sure you get a spare when you buy this case.

  • i do believe they only sell the original and genuine life proof case, i bought few from their website, come with warranty as well….

Nice idea but overpriced for the quality.
I had one on my Iphone 4 and it honestly did not stand up that well and I threw it away after 6 months of use. For some reason the clear plastic (that sits over your phone) warped and the seals degrade over time which means it is no longer water proof.

Also after a few months of use, everyone stopped being able to hear me clearly. I thought it was reception but it never improved and then I thought it was my phone. Googled it and found many people with the same issue with the case, take off the case and everyone can hear you find again.

Worst $70 I ever spent. I now have a $30 incipio case on my S3 and it's great even 6 months on.

    • Thanks for the review! I almost got ozbargained but reading your comment saved my mula!

  • The first batch of iphone5 lifeproof covers have had many bad reviews……i have owned the iphone 4 lifeproof cover and loved it. There were some that had faulty audio echo with the iphone 4s. As long as these arent the first lot released then its an absolute bargain otherwise i prefer to wait.

  • do u have ones for iphone 4?
