  • Im getting confused, Is the deal for skin or a kit? What's the original price? many thanks

    • +1

Kit is an extra $20 or so. Maybe not in stock much right now.

      OG price was $129

  • +4

Original price for the skin is 129. The deal is 89.

Original price for the kit is also 129, but stock is quite limited for the kit.

Depends on your usage case obviously, but I think most people will get more use out of a pole pruner eg https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-pole-prun… . This what you can use to trim all the trees around your house and you also can be a bit further away from the blade and not risk a slice through your leg or whatever. If you are cutting through logs for firewood or larger trees then, sure, get a chainsaw. If you dont like the weight and how unwieldy the pole pruners can be, chainsaws are better. However i you are the type of person who doesnt want to be climbing 10ft up a ladder and then trying to use a chainsaw one handed…

oh, obviously the pole pruner is a lot more $$

The pole pruner is pretty good. I use the recip for anything ground level and the pole for pretty much anything else.

It's the only ozito I got a dud with but when I went to swap it they left me with an extra extension piece.

Now I have an extra long pole pruner!

I like this as it can be used with 1 hand .

The pole trimmer , repo saw and chainsaw require using two hands.

This is based my experience cutting trees, for example you can climb up the tree and hold on with one hand while cutting.

I also tried the repo saw however to operate the buttons and hold the tool applying pressure needs two hands and it vibrates / saws.

Using both on my last trip to Thailand. This saw is the best and I just purchased another one for here to go with my other 3 larger chain saws.

Interested in the replacement chains as listed above.

Skin only means no battery included but this price still good for skin only??

Got a lot of Ozito gear but honestly can't see a huge use for this.
Any thicker branches I can reach I just hit with a recip saw or hand saw. Where a chainsaw attachment is very handy is for the stuff that's out of reach, on the end of a pole pruner. So yeah, I don't really see the benefit in these hand held ones.
I guess if you need to regularly cut logs for firewood maybe, but you'd probably want a proper chainsaw if that were the case.

Another vote for getting a recip saw (when they're $50) and a good pruning blade. I've had a good run with a Diablo.

And can then use bimetal blade for metal and what not.

    • The brushless recip is a beast…

  • Aldi $50, Ozito $89, is it worth nearly double the price?

    • +1

just get the one you have batteries for. unless you are earning a living from chopping logs then i doubt it will make much difference. i've got the aldi one and thrashed it and it is still going. i imagine the ozito one will go just as well

  • What a ripper

  • Ordered this together with the lawn mower, order was partially cancelled, was told the chainsaw is OOS. ;(

  • Would this be effective trimming 200mm x 50mm Pine Sleepers ?

  • Is there a chance this gets price matched to the Aldi special buys mini chainsaw in 7 days?

    https://www.aldi.com.au/product/ferrex-20v-mini-chainsaw-ski…

    • Price matches do not work on similar goods. They must be the same.

  • Had to jump a dead battery that would not charge.

How tight does the chain need to be? Should it pull a little or should it be tight?

    • +1

When the chain is pulled away at its furthest point,
the bottom tip of the links should only just stay in the groove [middle of
      the guide bar].

    FYI no oil is included.
