Unpopular opinion: stop juicing guys! You're wasting all the good stuff and drinking the not so good stuff.

Looks like a high speed centrifugal juice extractor. These are and outdated and unpopular design because they destroy the enzymes, and aerate the juice, causing it to oxidise, further losing nutrients and to discolour.

    • drinking the not so good stuff.

      this is bullshit

the juice is still healthy (still contains vitamins + minerals + natural and not process junk food)
you are just missing out on the fibre.

      • +5

Most people need more fiber tbh

        • -1

yeah of course if you can get more fibre then it is better especially if are regularly constipated
but to say the juice is not good is bullshit

Also not everyone can eat through alot of fruit (any even harder to do so for vegetables) or want to do it.
but prefer to drink it which is much more easier + faster to drink than eat it.

juicing is also good if you have lots of fruit/vegs that aren't looking as fresh or in the process of browning
and you need to go through it quickly but don't want to throw it away….

An alternative that gets you the fibre but also get juicing drink preference is to just put it in a blender and make a smoothie.

fibre is minimally about roughage, it's been relegated to that due imperfect knowledge of nutrition that (still) has yet to be reviewed in the mainstream

there are many kinds of fibre (and not just the soluble/insoluble categories). fibre feeds the myriad bacteria that make up your intestinal flora that in turn produce things like b group vitamins and other nutrients

@0jay: The most important part of having having the fibre with fruits (as opposed to the juice alone) is the differing effect on the bodies insulin response - drinking or eating simple sugars without fibre will cause a larger insulin release sooner, which is generally not good if you don't need that energy.

The other users point about oxidation and some nutrient loss are also worth consideration.

                this too

              yes but my point is

general public only knows fibre as being about roughage ie you are constipated cos not enough fibre…
if someone in general public is interested in gut health then they eat yoghurt or Yakult Probiotic drink

These things has been marketed in ads and media etc.. for a long time..

Even doctors more likely to tell you about Probiotic or yoghurt for gut health than about fibre ( soluble/insoluble )

              • @pinkybrain:

yoghurt can be a healthy food for a lot of reasons but as a probiotic that benefit's unproven. fermented foods are the best way to supplement existing flora or/and replenish following antibiotics or whatever

one thing to be aware of though is that you could theoretically stuff your diet with priobiotics but if you're not eating a variety of fibres that flora cannot proliferate

    • not if u get a cold press juicer

  • Ordered thanks!

    Cheers OP!🍹

This is dedicated to all the juicers that told me I'd never amount to nothin'.
To all the people that lived above the buildings that I was juicin' in front of.
Called the police on me when I was just tryin' to make some juice to feed my daughter.
And to all the juicers in the struggle, you know what I'm sayin'?
    It's all good, baby, baby!
