Yes but i didnt feel the need to try fight them on it
Base model y will electrocute this sucker.
After you are trapped inside?
These have electric handles also.
There’s benefits to this feature, which is why many OEMs now offer them.
Are the mechanical releases hidden under trim?
Some people really really don’t like others having their own free will to make a purchase that suits them.
This is ozb, money talks not your emotions
Received value determines a bargain. Clearly I struck an emotional nerve.
Yaris cross for w-anchors
Looks like there's about $8k difference between the top of the range Yaris Cross and this base spec Lexus which doesn't seem like a lot. The specs are very similar, but you still get some extra stuff with the Lexus and although you get AWD on the Yaris, I can't see why anyone would actually need it on a car like this……
People compare base to base, which a base Lexus is rather well equipped.
Good value compare to their European peers.
Imagine a affordable luxury car and see how people are struggling with their poor ego to show.
I just bought a NX350H and let me tell you it's night and day difference on the Rav4.. well worth the extra money. They wouldn't even budge on price much, gone are the old days.
Is it really that much of a difference?
I've heared the ride is much more quiet and smooth.
Which grade did you get - luxury or F sport? It is. Despite Toyota are quite well put together these days. There are some very subtle differences, such as accoustic (double glazed) glass - interestingly BMW and MB have only kept this in their higher end models, whilst BYD offered it on their Seal, better sound deadening and insulation, ventilated seats, the soft touch material (if anyone cares).
Owning a Lexus is convenient, pick up and drop off car at service with a loan car provided. One of the key reason I kept the Lexus (yes, the service generally cost $200 more than the same service that Toyota would charge).
Lexus/Toyota is an affordable and reliable daily runner.
What you will see if they Lexus owners don't mind the car being associated as a Toyota (which is a taboo for Audi owners). In fact, that is probably why the Lexus is chosen as a daily. They also not tend to negotiate on new or floor stock (except for demos), nor the dealership will entertain much (10% at most, if lucky).
Hey good feedback thanks. I've been fighting with myself to get one, as I can't in mind justify paying 50% on top of RAV4 :)
About services, can you negotiate some sort of capped setup?@jackwilk: Not sure if they do capped service. Check their site.
Cost wise is not too different from BMW and the like, but include pickup/drop off with loan car. Usually only applies to Encore (3 years after date of purchase), but I have been getting it on mine beyond the 3 years - not called and quoted every time. It's an older car GS350.
I mean, they do cost $2-300 than Toyota for the exact same service. At least the option is there.
If value is an important point, don't think any established marquees can match the Chinese EV (Which we also have one at home).
I see it as Seiko vs Grand Seiko kind of scenario. People go for GS merely because they can.
spec for spec comparison. I don't think an NX would be 50% more than a RAV4, no idea what they cost these days.
Care to elaborate? I have a NX250 and the transmission is quite rough, especially in the lower speeds
Thanks OP ordered 10
Are these also easy to steal with the Canbus hack? Asking for friend….
You know what's easy? Storing your car in a garage if you have one.
Nearly every car I've seen being stolen in the method you've mentioned are sitting in driveways including a garage. If only people were organised enough to use their garages for the purpose intended, not storehouses for their garbage.
Dunno man. I don't hear that any other car that's easy to steal like. Not sure why Victorian theives are targeting weak Toyota security.
If they had an encrypted Canbus this wouldn't happen though.
But but but my house is only 150sq and had to turn the garage into a bathroom.
Keeping your car in the garage won't make it safe, the house across me got theirs stolen by someone breaking in and finding the keys at night.
It's about risk mitigation, like anything in life. Why not make your keys hard to locate too?
This is why insurance companies ask questions about where a car is stored. Many leave there's on the side of the road nightly, again, when they have storage options but are just simply lazy. Criminals don't object.
Will this be a better investment than a BMW for a Westpac Investment Analyst?
I recommend going for a high yielding Mercedes instead.
I agree, C200 with Luxury pack
Spending this much might as well go for the CH-R which shares same platform as Corolla and UX. Unless you just want the Lexus badge.
CH-R is subjectively a much better looking car.
Lol that is a Lexus Echo mate. hahha great car btw had one that centre console makes heaps of sense with that beutiful road view without cluster getting on the way ahhahah.
isnt it free airport parking ? great for travellers
This is the RRP, what is the bargain here?
It's slower than my 2008 IS250, and it even feels slower than the temporary UX I had. Why are they charging these prices? Are we still stuck in the post-COVID price bubble?
I already gave up waiting for a revised IS that actually brings more power and actual revision (not reskins), but this still doesn't make sense.
"2008 IS250 … waiting for a revised IS that actually brings more power and actual revision (not reskins)".
Since the 2IS, 3IS came about with upgrades, a few key ones:
1. 8 speed ATM
2. 3.5 2GR (which an earlier version was available in the 2IS)
3. Adaptive damper in the F-Sport variant.
4. Despite discontinued in Australia, the finale IS500 (very powerful) is available overseas and being imported as used here."slower than my 2008 IS250, and it even feels slower than the temporary UX"
A bit slower, though, will likely more useful torque upfront and more suitable in the suburban area with the electric motor.UX is north of $65k. The UX is also a bit quicker than the old IS250. Dont think it really matters of an A-B passenger car.
UX200 to be specific. The loan car was slowww.
LBX appears to be in the same philosophy of slop cars with Lexus badge. Not the iconic over engineered LS legacy.
I was rooting for Lexus for so long and gave up given they have messed up their commitment to electrification. So, since they didn't commit on ice cars, they are having to scramble new models (it is my opinion after following it for years). Even Kirk Kreifels (Youtuber) has lost justifications for it when prices are much better in the US.
For the IS comment, I had <65Km when I bought it and dashboard was changed under warranty and no one sat in the back seat. So, it was almost a new car from the way the previous owner took care of it. So, when I sat it a 3IS, the tech was so annoying that 2IS was simply better. Rest was almost identical. Sloppy gear change and power (unless you changed to sport+). Since, I couldn't justify the upgrade, waited for a revised version only to find out they can't pass new safety checks…so they will simply stop bringing them over. Don't get me started on the latest front end throws up
Might go back if they bring a new electric solid state battery tech and can actually compete against a model 3 long range performance (a simple standard of performance at this stage given the price point).

If anything the Jolions are proving to be the Toyotas of the Chinese vehicle fleet.
