  Me and a friend have the em3800, both of ours are solid and have worked for years!

  Not sure what the difference is though. Always thought this was the newer model but looking at the model number maybe has a smaller pump?

  My parents have had this model (in red) for a few years and love it. It makes a great coffee. They got it on sale from memory for around $130. I can highly recommend it!

  Yeah we bought the mother in law this machine for xmas three years ago, really good machine for the price, better than the breville ones as hasn't seemed to get louder with age like my upper model breville one.

  Quick question for those that have one:
  Can you quickly remove the coffee handle without it spraying the coffee around? And is it practical to make a couple of coffees in a row quickly?

  I've got an older Breville machine that does that unless you completely release all pressure from the tank and that just takes too long if you want to make a couple of coffees.

    I have the 4800 and once you turn the dial back to the middle, you can take the handle off. Check the YouTube link above.
