The only requirement is that you have a $1000 initial deposit.

    Beat me to the punch OZUP!! It's via the website InfoChoice www.infochoice.com.au - which is free to join & they have a vast amount of info on finances, telephone plans etc etc…. :->)

    There are about 5 steps to completing the online application……it's at about step 3 or 4……perhaps you have to use the specific url from InfoChoice which is : http://www.raboplus.com.au/infochoice/

    Note the end of the url makes this "unique" to the normal web url……quite possibly why you aren't seeing the page to add the promo code.

    RaboBank is one of the largest Banks in the world…..located in Holland (as is ING - you see Billy Connoly adverts for). They are a mutual organisation, and in Australia have largely functioned as a rural bank. They are presumably spreading their wings into the retail sector in Australia now.

    The url of the Parent Company is at : http://www.rabobank.com/content/ …….. the Australian RaboBank is at : http://www.rabobank.com.au/

    If you have a look at the "About Us" on the parent website it mentions :

    "Rabobank has a AAA credit-rating, is considered among the top 10 safest banks in the world, and enjoys an award-winning sustainability rating in economic, environmental, and social categories……"

    They hold an Australian Banking licence and are subject to the same laws & rules of all "Deposit Taking Institutions", regulated by ARPA.

    The code here is "INFO0807". Which one's right??

    phew. Thats what i put in. Anyway, i applied and it seems to work. I was actually eyeing RABObank a few months ago and checked them out but i think $100 was enough of an incentive for me to take that extra step (BANKS, PLEASE NOTE) hehe. It worked.

    Yes it is a browers issue. try selecting some text and dragging the mouse down to the bottom of the screen which
    then a continue button should appear if not im sure if you select the Enter key on your key board it may go to the next screen.

    Just applied two accounts (one for me, another one for someone else in the family). Make sure you type in the promo code correctly as there is no feedback on whether the code is correct.

    Lucky that I procrastinated and did not apply for an account when it was first posted here two months ago.

    …..it may be the case that they are a PLC company in Australia….but I'd guess the mutual Global Bank would be the sole holder of the Australian "branch"…….so I guess it's a quasi-mutual.

    In the same way that a Credit Union may have an "affiliated" Financial Planning Services company…..the Credit Union (as a mutual) would be the sole holder of 100% of the capital of that "subsidiary". :->)

    So it's not really all that "bad news"!! ;->)

    Just got my PIN today to activate the "Digipass" device. Went online and checked — yes and extra $100 in my account :)

    Also RaboPlus has also raised their interest rate to 6.7%. Makes me feel much better after the market plunge today.
