Florsheim had 50% off the last time. I'm sure you can do better than that.

They need to do better, Harris Scarf has some of the shoes for $69 all year around. Like Flint.

  • I agree with the above but I bought the rejoice because it's the cheapest I could find.

  • Interesting, but I don't know what size to buy. There's a sizing chart, but it doesn't say if the shoes on the website are UK or US sizes.

    :S

  • I have been disappointed with my Julius Marlow shoes that I purchased last May. Each to their own though.

The heal is separating from the sole on one shoe. Also, near the ball of my foot on the sole it is starting to feel quite thin from normal corporate wear. Not sure how long before I will have a hole all the way through in that shoe. They seem to have worn much quicker than other business shoes I have owned.

Just a word of caution I guess really. They are comfortable though.

    • I agree with you, until i bought the 02 range.

    • They are the worst-wearing shoes I have ever owned.

I bought a pair, which I walk in for 30 minutes each day for 5 days a week. That's to the office and home. I walk on concrete. I take my shoes off entirely when I'm in the office. I don't walk out at lunchtime to get lunch (I make it at home) but I do additional walking by going out on a friday, maybe the odd kilometre or two of errands each few weeks. This is the minimum anyone could expect to wear a work shoe.

It only took 4 months for the following to happen:
      1) Hole wearing ENTIRELY THROUGH at the ball of my foot.
      2) The heel had also worn through the 7mm bottom layer and was exposing chipboard (I walk heel first. I pronate, which means I roll my foot, but it's only a slight pronation).

I got them replaced, the manufacturer cited "manufacturing defect".

The replacement pair, 4 months later, same problem. Manufacturer didn't have an excuse that time.

I've now spent $45 having them resoled prior to wearing the third pair.

I was also told "no refund", which is ILLEGAL for them to claim, because the good is CLEARLY "not fit for purpose" since goods are warranted for 12 months by australian law and these only last for 4 months. They need to read up on the ACCC rules.

The manufacturer needs to get out the durometer and use harder rubber. They perform so poorly I honestly feel that they must know this happens and it is a blatant cash-grab, hoping that they will keep their money and the customer won't complain.

The true cost of these shoes, is Price + $45 for resoling. As such they are not a bargain.

And, Julius Marlow, if you dare to say otherwise then please let me provide you with the receipt for my resoling and you can reimburse me.

If we can get replacement every 4 months i think actually this is a good deal.

        • Most shoes would last longer than a year though…

If you timed it perfectly, you might get 16 months. More realistically, 12.

But hey I encourage you to do it. The manufacturer might get the message then!

      • Sorry for being blunt. How much do you weigh?

        • Not sure if joking.

          75kg.

    • I've had two pairs of Julius Marlow shoes (both boots) for over 1.5 years and no issues whatsoever.
I never wear them two days in a row, which is an old wives tale I was told a few years ago about letting leather breathe to get it to last longer.
Maybe you were just unlucky, maybe I was just lucky?

Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate buying this brand again. But this discount isn't blowing my socks off.

      • Well, it's the sole that is worn, not the leather. They simply need tougher rubber.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Just trying to help people :)

    • Nice if we could see the actual prices of those 6 pairs they are offering

      • I was wondering that too, and then I signed and loged in to see the price. The prices are the same as ebay.
