JB-Hifi has The Wire Seasons 1-5 at extremely low prices, cheaper than I've seen elsewhere (~$15.98). If this discount applies to them then it truly is an amazing price. The only problem is that as of last week neither Bondi Junction or any of the Sydney CBD branches had any stock whatsoever :(

They had actually taken them off the shelves or they had sold out? The guy at Bondi did an inventory search for a few Sydney stores and said all had sold out. I went to Virgin too as they have a 25% off sale on and they too had sold out.
Got PS2 Singstar with microphones for $64. Normally $90+ although Target currently has it for $67 I think.

Might have a look to check if the local JB has reverted to full RRPs like it did last year, or if the usual low prices are in evidence (and subject to the further 20% off).
i know someone who works there, apparently the only price that has changed since xmas was the dark knight went from $26.98 to $29.98 but it was only that low because of competitive pricing leading up to xmas. Oh he also tells me alot of Blu-rays from Disney are dropping to $24.98ea from $39.99 tomoz and then u get a further 20% off!
Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty' Blu-Ray is 20% off….but the price never dropped to 24.98?

I don't know if the online prices are identical to the in store ones, but they don't appear to have been changed. Although The Wire DVDs have gone up one cent each overnight?
Serious bargains to be had, i had a walk through this morning (TGV in Sydney) and boxsets are a plenty. The Seinfeld Fridge Boxset is $149, that's $120 after discount which is an absolute bargain considering it's for all 9 seasons!
JB's "reduced" competitive prce was $149.
Now they're saying its $170.99 and with 20% off $136.79.

good deal in the most part BUT they have definitely raised some prices on the website. One example being in the CD's under $10 where virtually nothing now is under $10 and in some cases you'll be paying more than $10 even with a 20% discount.. or the SUBPOP under $15 section where now everything is minimum $19.19!
The prices in store are cheaper than the prices online. Just went through The Strand JB and the prices are cheaper….
I was just in at JB, definitely some great prices. Saved $60. It appears all stores have no stock of The Wire at all, in SA at the very least. I jumped online and got all 4 seasons delivered for just under $80 though, so still a bargain I guess.
Came back from my JB hi fi, there were a lot of bargains there (mainly tv shows) I got The Wire Season 1 for $12.80 (I had to asked for it, as it was not on the shelf.
Season 2 and 3 were there, did't get them (dont know if I will like the show).

Please say it was a Sydney one. The Sydney CBD (Galleries) branch today told me that they were hoping to have more stock by next Tuesday. I asked about a number of other DVDs which were also sold out, and none was expected in until after the 20% off promotion!
they're worth it, at least from my point of view. I got them when the sale started and am now on season 3.

Perhaps there are better deals in store but a number of CDs and DVDs on the site do not appear discounted at all (they don't have the 'on sale now' graphic), even though the banner goes to pains to say 'advertised prices are correct'.
Yeah, website is mixed, some things seem inflated before the discount as simhanada states, but a lot of good deals to be found anyhow… perhaps an option if you cannot get to a store or they are out of stock… Thanks
Bought Batman Dark Knight blu-ray for $30 today.
Make sure you check your receipts guys, they overcharged me on a game or two as the discount didn't go through properly. I had to go back and sort it out… Make sure it is correct! The receipts are freaking confusing too!
my mate told me there was a problem with games going through the tills, the first one got the 20% off then every other game went through at full price or something like that, they have now fixed it.
i got secret diary of a call girl season 1 reduced from $34.99 to 15.98 less 20% discount, only $12.80 for the season! xD

As far as I'm aware guys the website and in store prices aren't necessarily the same so I wouldn't discount any item based on the web price. Hell, even individual stores in my experience are capable of having very different prices on some items. Catalogue prices should be consistent but I've come across many non catalogue items that differ between stores and the site.
I went to 3 stores and all 5 seasons of the Wire were sold out everywhere, hopefully store close to home got some.

This is a pretty good sale, but it would have been great if it was 20% off storewide as I went in today and asked if blank tapes were also 20% off as I had some in my hands ready to buy them and they said no it's only cd's and dvd's and that. Oh well I guess I had my hopes up thinking a store like jbhifi would have had a great sale on most items as they never usually do. I guess nothing's changed.

kingdom hospital tv series which was reduced from $56.99 to $19.99 on sale to a measly $15.00….and the critic tv series for $10.00…..
upon leaving i sav the teen aqua series but couldnt be bothered going back to wait in line again.
