Their prices aren't really that good and the website is confusing.

    • Yes but if you can join for 1 month at $10 and receive the $100 debit card then cancel, it's quite a good offer.

      • You might lose all your waiting periods if you're already with a health insurer though

      • Good plan, especially because I don't have any private insurance so I won't be losing any waiting periods. Do they have online cancelling? Cause I don't like to argue the cancellation over the phone

        1. Eligible Customers will cease to be eligible to receive the prize, if prior to 9.00am WST on Sunday 15 April 2013, their policy is terminated by:

        - the Customer; or
        - HBF in accordance with policy terms and conditions, or any law or regulation.

  • Is there a website to compare?

Im after a basic hospital + basic extras (optical and dental) package… Buy contacts every year (approx $200 worth) and like to go to the dentist at least once a year

    • I get my teeth cleaned without any cover for $40 normally. And I need optical.. Not sure if can get a good deal from this.

  • It was a nightmare when I moved back to WA and rejoined this Health Insurance provider. Took so many phone calls and arguments trying to get my account right. They altered my start dates at least 4 times as they were quick to grab my money but did not care if they had details such as end date of old provider, govt rebate correct and my age loading.
When I rang they could not calculate things and only after I insisted with all my calculations did they resent it back to the processing team who recalculated and eventually changed to the correct date that I came up with.

  • If anyone is signing up just for the gift card you don't need to 'transfer' your health insurance.

You can just sign up on top of your existing insurance (just don't tell either companies - it's not illegal but they won't like you doing it).

    • Hmmm interesting idea. Are you sure it isnt in their t&cs?
