Can you pay with IKEA giftcard using IKEA app?

    • +1

Want to know this as well. Can stack with 10% bonus gift card from colworths

      • +1

        Yes

      • +1

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but which specific colesworth deal/card are you referencing? Where do I get my 10%?

        • +1

Never stupid question when saving money my man :)
Ultimate cards from last months. Sorry the deal is expired

Buy gift cards at Macqurie app anytime at 6% off and instant.

    • +19

You scan your items with the app and it generates a QR code when you are ready to pay. Scan the code at the counter and select your preferred payment method, including giftcards.

    • Yes

  • The kitchen range is horrifically expensive, no clue why it's never on sale!

    • +8

It's been on sale just a month ago. 15% off IIRC.

It's not cheap as they use quality Blum drawers. The rest is mid range. Labour cost for the installation is very expensive though. If you're hiring tradies to install it, it can be more expensive than getting a kitchen from a kitchen company. Lots of small parts and tradies don't like following the manual. Plus the hassle of arranging everything yourself.

I installed an IKEA kitchen and went through the hassle, saved some bucks, but the headache I got doesn't make up for the savings. However, as it's now a rental, I like that I can easily swap all cabinet fronts to new ones easily. They're all standard sized, no custom stuff, so easy to buy off the shelf. Having said that, I've never seen a real estate listing with an IKEA kitchen. It tells something - they're not popular in Australia because of the high labour cost.

There is a joke “ What came first the Air BnB rental or IKEA?”. A lot of AirBnB places use IKEA stuff because it looks reasonable and damaged stuff can be swapped out pretty easily.

When it ends? 27 nov is not monday but thursday , also the link doesnt say anything about this sale :)

  • +2

    Ladda… lots of Ladda.

    • +1

      Good luck finding any

      • +1

Just to correct myself, they're actually back in stock now.

  • Ah this seems like they are giving 10% discount for load testing the app and their SCM systems. :)

    • The app has been around a little while now and they’ve had this discount using the app before.

  • Is there anyway to do click and collect but pay in-store?

  • Any way to retroactively apply the 10%? Just bought some furniture not even a week ago :/

    • +2

load up the car and use that 365 day return policy

      • +1

No need to load up the car. Just go purchase the exact some items at 10% off and immediately take them to the returns desk and return them with the old receipt.

    • +4

Repurchase and return it immediately using the old receipt.

      • If you paid with gift cards the first time you'll be returned in the form of gift cards

        • Yea that’s a downside.. so depends on what you need. But having gift cards to use in the future might not be as bad as having to take all the furniture back to ikea..

  • Is Malm chest eligible for this promo? Wanted to pick up but make sure before driving up an hour

    • It's not excluded so I don't see why not

Will this stack with $10 discount with $50 spend?

    • What is this? Ikea specific discount?

      • For those who subcribe

    • Yes

Will this stack with 15% discounted sofa beds ending today?

  • scan items from our home furnishing accessories and products

I can't find the category 'home furnishing accessories'.
Does this deal include everything except for the categories and items explicitly listed in point 2?

  • Ooh time to get a bunch of LÅNESPELARE.

  • There is a 15% IKEA family discount on sofas that ends today. Not sure if it will stack but might be worth a try.

  • Any decent discounts on ikea gift cards right now?

  • +2

i was able to stack with a $10 off $50 birthday voucher
the app errored when i applied the voucher there, but i was able to apply it during checkout on the machine.

  • Great deal for me as I had about $1k worth of stuff in my cart.
Confirming that it stacks with existing discounts, keys AND gift cards.

** I was at Ikea last night in the Tempe Sydney store and there was a LONG line at the App Express Check w/ 5 Terminals.
(all the other non app self check out terminals were empty). Poor Security guy had a white board to manually check off invoices and items for trolleys that were coming out. So double the time to wait at the the App check out AND a huge line behind the guard.

    • Soon they will verify based on the weight like Colesworths do.

Previously security guy was there to just show hey don't try bad things. I doubt they know anything about the items.

    • Not only that, but if you need delivery (which I did as I was buying a sofa), you can't do it in the app. You need to arrange and pay for delivery separately at the customer service desk, which is whole 'nother level of HELL.

      • Do you just take your haul to the service desk (after paying for them) and give them to be delivered later?

        • +2

In my case I went to the service desk without my haul. I scanned in my items in the app (for the 10% discount), checked out my “shopping bag” in the app which generates a QR code, scanned the QR code at the cashier to pay, and then went to the service desk to arrange delivery, all without actually collecting the goods first.

    • You don't have to stop for a receipt checker.

  • Cool app. I like the design and fast. Meant to stack with 10% GC which I forgot to carry with. Rip

Are you guys able to add gift cards to the ikea app wallet? My 19 digit egift cards just throw up an invalid error message.

    • Yea. I managed to get a 15% off giftcard from an Ozbargain user and then applied it to my Ikea App. So total saved 25% including the 10% off currently on a $600 purchase. It was a first time for me paying with Ikea giftcards, went smoothly.

      • Was it 16 digits or 19?

    • Crap my gift card is throwing an error as well. Did you manage to figure it out?

      • Is yours also 19 digits? Apparently the app only supports gift cards with 16 digits.

        • Ahh we figured it out. You can use 19 digit gift cards during the payment process when you are physically there at the check-out counter after you scan the QR code for your scanned items. ie. You don't need to preload your gift cards.

Managed to use all 3 of my gift cards on top of the 10% discount.

          • @CheapCoffee: Last Friday 10% not showed up fro me and I had to ask the staff to apply for it.

  • I must say this scan products with phone and later checkout is innovative thing done by Ikea. It's pretty clean. It's better than those tablets in carts by another compnay.

I helped a lady in checkout who bought a lot of things but oblivious on the many signs IKEA has in store, she should save $20+.

  • +1

Great deal as it work with Secondhand furniture. I managed to get STYRSPEL chair for $160 by using 10% off and giftcard + $10 for new member.
Kinda no brainer at this price for that chair.

    • Is the chair clean?

      • Yeah. It stated customer returned, no sign of using or install.

  • Can we pay by gift cards? I can get discounted gift cards and double dip!

    • +1

      yes you can.

  • Does Ikea normally hold black Friday sale? This offer ironically ends a day before black Friday

  • ends on Monday November 27, 2025
