Nice deal, silly product… but that's not to say I couldn't use them in another project ;) $2 is much more like their true value so that's good to see. I always wonder how much DickSmith originally purchased stuff like this for from the Chinese suppliers, hmmm.
IMHO anything that gets more photos of your loved ones up in your home while performing another function as well, ain't silly.
2 x AA maxell batteries, 1x USB cable, At best a ball for the tree (with string) - You cant go wrong. I will be taking one apart tonight- just for the fun of it.
Edit: just realised that being on an AA power supply- cant really do much else with it.

Dick Smith at Carindale Qld and Cannon Hill Qld would not price match but have stock at $4.95 ea.
Purchased 4 at this price as I have a special use for them.
Up loaded 50 x 18 mega pixel photographs through built in (included) software with no problems which I expect were greatly reduced for storage and display.
Quite the Dick Smith guru, Ricodbn! I'm still grateful for the nuvi and the golf watch for $50 from last year.
Wonder if I'll find these baubles in Melbourne?
