  • This is a great deal. I actually tried on a pair of these in Rebel yesterday but there was no way I was paying $240 for them.

    • excellent, you'll know which size to get then = )

unless you've been buying kayano for years like me

      • I know what size to get, that's why I tried them on. I was going to look for a decent deal from the US and then this popped up :)

        • +38

Nice. Better to get these locally or from the UK as the US ones make you run on the wrong side of the road.

        • sorry, i am a newbie for asics products, and looking to get 1.
but what is the difference between us and uk asics shoes. shouldnt it be the same, if we are buying the same size.

i am just a bit confused with the above statement, running on the wrong side of the road.

can someone pls be so kind to let me know, so i wont buy the wrong one. thank you

        • +3

          not…….sure……if…….serious

  • Great Price!

  • Great timing. I was just heading to the shops to buy new sneakers. Anyone dealt with this company before?

    • +1

Yes, I have and a mate at work.
      Highly recommended

    • Many times, never had a problem

      • second that.They're good.

    • Got a kayano 19 and a Cumulus 14 from them just this month for GBP 149 delivered (with coupon). Received the shoes in 10 days.
btw, the free socks were really good, will definitely buy some extras when ordering from them again.

    • Super company. Swift shipping and very good with replacements for faulty products!

  • Great price on the 19's
If I am not mistaken, I saw a deal on the 18's for $119 here.

So this is a great price

  • Here's a link to the women's variant, same price:

Great deal - another example of how much we are ripped off here in Australia.

    • Email Asics Australian head office and complain. Tell them you're not paying that amount for sneakers made cheap in Asia. That's what I did.

      • +8

        Where did that get you?

      • +1

I got mine last month and so far so good, however keep emailing asic so they can ban this site from shipping to AU like all the other ones :P

  • Seem to be able to use the code for the 18s as well. At least it let me to, to the last stage of checkout. Helpful if anyone wants the 18s as they are abit cheaper.

  • comes to £98.95 with the discount coupon in my checkout excluding delivery.. am i doing something wrong?

    • +1

Once you choose Australia as the shipping destination they will take off VAT, bringing it down to £92.47 inc £10 delivery.

      • oh right i forgot about VAT - thanks

  • Nice find. I got one the pair of Kayano 18s currently one of their weekend deals using the same code. Came to about $118 australian. http://www.startfitness.co.uk/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID…

    • I own both the 18's and 19's; both are awesome shoes (the best there is). There isn't difference, but the 19's are noticeably lighter and have a bit more support (particular around the toe).

The impact absorption these Kayano's have is amazing… but they do wear out quicker than cheaper models.

  • +1

BTW if you do not previously own Asics I would suggest to try some instore (Athlete's Foot, etc.) for correct size. Maybe it's just me but I find asics sizes run smaller (like Mizuno) so I have to get a half size bigger for these (in US sizes).

    • +2

Oh, forgot to mention, startfitness even stock 2E (wide) sizes which is great. Not many places seem to have those.

  • Anyone know how long they take to deliver?

    • Took 10 days for me.

  • +8

Great pair of shoes, can vouch for that, especially for running, really cushions the impact of pavement, used to wear Nikes and Reeboks, until a friend of mine convinced me to pay the extra for Kayanos, its on a league of their own in terms of comfort and durability, got most of my family on to it now, big recommend.

  • Thanks mate, ordered.

  • Dammit, I literally received my 18s on Friday from Start Fitness. Great price!

  • I know Kayano is Asics's running shoes, however I am looking for a pair of cross training shoes, is Asics's range good? I see the US has Gel Intensity 2 model, any good?

    • You get what you pay for. Kayano's are widely regarded as the best running shoe; that is why they are popular on OzBargain.

As for the Gel Intensity 2. If you over-pronate you will likely find the Asics Gel an excellent choice over similar shoes.

      • +1

That's why I am asking for a pair of cross training shoes, because Kayano is regarded as running shoes which I don't do much running, rather more various gym exercises.

        • same here guys.. any recommendations for a cross training shoes?

        • Guys they are great for all sports, particularly found them very forgiving with basketball and volleyball due to the extra cush.

Although they are classified for running, i use them for everything! and they are more than capable to handle whatever is thrown at them due to their durability. So i'd even recommend them as cross training shoes.

Edfoo: These will be fine for various gym exercises, good balance of flex and support with these shoes.

        • +1

if your talking about using Kayanos for anything other then running i would be careful. Kayanos are so much lighter because they have minimal support for any action other then running which ic basically forward motion. if you were to wear them for basketball with lots of feet twisting or sidestepping you may tear out the sides or worse cause yourself an injury. a basketball shoe is heavier and has more support going up to the ankle for a reason.
When you are running you are placing extra pressure on your joints, thats why its worth paying extra for good shoes like Kayanos, ideally you would have one pair of shoes for running, one for the gym, tennis, basketball and casual walking etc unfortunatly a shoe that does all that hasnt been invented and i wouldnt be trying to use the kayano for more then it was designed for.
sorry for been a bit long winded.

  • These are great shoes, very comfortable but the material they use to cover the toes is really really thin, on both of my pair of shoes it has ripped through after just 8 months of use. I always ahve my toenails cut short and I have owned heaps of sports shoes and this is the first time it's happened. :|

    • +2

Don't buy Kayano's if you expect them to last as long as other shoes. They are designed to be lightweight, high performance… but these features typically mean they are not durable.

  • Really good deal. My problem is that I get all the way through to process payment via credit card then it just comes up with page not found and then when I go back my cart is empty. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

    • Same problem. Page not found when processing payment. Would love to know if I'm doing something wrong.

    • I placed my order a couple of hours ago without issue. Make sure you've got pop-up blockers disabled because it launches you to the securepay site.

    • +1

Had the same problem with firefox, switched to IE and the order went through (guessing it was one of the adblocking/script addons I have installed in firefox)

    • Tried a few different browsers and disabled pop up blocker. No Dice. Anyway just rang them and completed the order over the phone, they looked up my order, confirmed it and processed the card. 10 hours behind us, 001144 plus the number on the site minus the first zero and ring ring its done. Thanks to the OP.

  • Many thanks OP. Been looking for somewhere to get these at a decent price since Wiggle stopped selling & delivering Asics gear to Aust.

  • +1

Hey guys, thanks op for posting the deal, I've been using crappy Nike air max as my sport shoes for the last 5 years, and it was only recently that I encountered some injuries that the Physio asked what kind of shoes I am using. So anyway I pop into athletes foot today, and they did the feet tests. It showed I was over pronating, i.e. rolling in, so I needed something with good support. I asked about the kayano 19, and the attendant said over the last five years brooks has taken over asics in terms of popularity. I tried both the kayano 19, $249, and the brooks top of the line Trance 12, $279. In terms of initial feel I definitely liked the Brooks better, and the attendant agreed when he observed me walking. He said the support on the trance 12 is physically thicker, but whether that means better depends on personal preference. I'll probably be ordering the Brooks, which surprisingly has a uk rrp of only 120 pounds (it says 108 pounds, free socks, but I haven't tried out the code). I'll post back after ordering to tell you the total price I paid. I definitely recommend going to athletes foot to get an assessment and check your sizes.

  • I like Kayano 18s better, mine are wearing out and I didn't like the feel of the 19s when I tried them on.

Startfitness didn't have Kayano 18s in my size so I ended up buying from the US using a shipping forwarding service, it worked out to AU$122 which I'm really happy with. I used priceusa.com.au for the forwarding and bought from holabirdsports.com - they have the Kayano 18s priced at US$99.88.

  • +1

Well i put the order through - NYSAVE10 code still works. All up the Trance 12 is $136.61 AUD (90.96 pounds) delivered to AUS. Hopefully if no issues with delivery and order - i will have saved more than 50% =) Felt kind of sorry for the attendant at Athlete's foot though, i think he knew i was just noting down the details to order elsewhere online lol

  • Thanks for all your kind posts, glad you all enjoyed the deal.

  • Thanks guys! I'm an OZbargain newbie but scored a pair if Nike Free's from that site for AU$90 inc shipping which is way cheaper than anywhere I've been able to find them.

    • I ended up getting done Nike Free from eastbay using one of their regular 20% codes splitting shipping with a friend and that worked out to be about AUD 99. I will have to check this site next time

  • I used to use the Kayano's…. definitely the best runner I've ever owned. I don't run anymore so I have trouble justifying them. They don't seem to last as long as other runners. I used to alternate them with Brooks Adrenalin's… The asics as the comfort recovery shore and the Brooks as the go to shoe for a fast paced workout.

    This is an awesome price

  • Great deal, used to use Kayano in my running days.

  • dammit, thanks to OzBargain i've bought four pairs of shoes in a month. Including the 18's! Love Kayano's though can't beat them. Shame they are so expensive in Aus

  • CAn anyone recommend nike shoes? that are durable, with good performance?? and good value

First time buying proper running shoes. Your advice would be much appreciated!!

    • i can only vouch for the frees and the free 'trail' shoes (not sure of the model number) As a moderate runner i would NOT condone any of the Free models for running, they don't give a lot of support. For general sports, gym and everyday walking around they're great. But running? No
I love Kayano's i've been wearing them for the past 8 years and never had a problem, great support and good longevity.

  • Has anyone tried both the Kayanos & new Adidas Energy Boost able to comment on both? I need new running shoes & have heard good things about both. Although Kayanos have a good track record, every review I've read on the adidas has been positive. I feel a bit weird about going into a store to try both for feel & size without the intention of buying from them.

  • hey guys can you give me some info on the kayanos 19 2E? wide fit?

    • like what? i got them. i tried on the normal ones in shops but the 2e ones don't seems too much wider.
