Which is the best "tablet" on the market?

I'm wanting to purchase a new "tablet" as I am going o/seas for 8 weeks. What is the best "tablet" on the market for book reading, browsing & emails?

  • ipad 4/google nexus 10/transformer infinity depending on your preference of ecosystem

    • If you need 3g, then the Nexus 10 is out of the running as it is wifi only.

Also, it is currently out of stock at google, which means paying about an extra $100 to buy one off a reseller.

  • I got a Nexus 7 3G version for around $330. I found it more portable and convenient than my 10" Tablet. Love it!

  • I vote for the iPad mini. I find it much more enjoyable and luggable than the big one.

This is like asking whats the best car.

First you need to decide what size screen you want… 10 inch or 7 inch are most popular

The next big question is do you want and apple operating system (IOS) or andriod or windows.

I agree with others that the ipad 4 or the Google Nexus 10 are both about the best tablets at the moment.

However there are some windows ones transformer and HP I think make some great ones.

If you need 4G/3g Check to make sure you tablet has them.

Wow the last 2 comments are ridculously similar! Good advice though.

  • Thanks everyone for your advice. We are now thinking the Asus TF300T Transformer, with keyboard dock will be most suitable, mainly because it ticks the most boxes. At home we have an Acer all in one touchscreen (very happy) Toshiba laptop for work (very happy) Samsung Galaxy SII mobile (very happy). With all the above in mind we think the Asus will fit in between, as both a tablet to play, plus a mini computer whilst travelling, as we have to do minimal work every day (emails, banking, excel spreadsheets).
Does anyone have any good or bad comments on the Asus TF300T Transformer or any other suggestions?
