  • Why don't they just make this an everyday price now? It has been coming on special every other week.

    • +3

It sells more when they do weekly sale.

  • I'm seriously tempted as a second TV..

Bought one of these few months back. Great tv at the price. Only beef is the remote is a piece if shite

    • Does it have side HDMI? I would have to get one of those cheapo Android sticks

      • Yup, one of the HDMI is on the side.

    • The remote on mine was crap … right button turned off TV … ok button didnt work. Sent the remote back and just received the new one. Works like a charm.

But yes the remote you have to be pointing directly at the sensor … not even the tv for it to work.

  • Great price for a FHD TV and free delivery makes it a no brainier.

Bought one last time. Nice picture, very easy setup. Has PVR function (to USB storage, not included). Most satisfied with purchase…if you don't like the 'shite'(sic) remote, buy a Logitech Harmony Universal, the low end one (300) comes around regularly for around $15!! I have one of these too, great buy!!

    • My harmony doesn't support my cheapo 'Nuovo' branded tv. But it works with these?

      • Harmony supports anything effectively. You just need to "train" it to do so :)

        • Only if you have the original remote though right?

      How is shite spelled incorrectly?

      • Should have read 'if shite' (sic)….

You need to watch more British movies :)

Got one of these. Great bedroom tele but, its has low quality sound and screen covering is very thin. It doesn't play the mkv or mp4 also.. hope this helped.. not bad value though.
EDIT: remote is very shyte !

    • Disappointing, was hoping for mkv / mp4 support. Thanks for pointing that out!
edit: anyone able to point in the direction of a similar TV with such support, would be much appreciated.

Just about all devices fail to play many mkv in my experience. When a third of them don't play ( the third that are best) you get tired of trying.

The latest popcorn hour does almost all but costs $500.

Nearly all the WD media players will play mkv/mp4mov and at under a $100 to $150, they wipe the floor with a Popcorn Hour. Nice bit of gear the Popcorn but too expensive for what it does. So a WD Liv(for instance) plugged into one of these would answer your mkv problems plus you can just stream to it if you wish as well.

  • Does this TV support the Tivo remote? If so, anyone got the code?

  • Is it worth getting Extended Warranty on this TV??

    • probably not but depends how cheap extended warranty is?

  • Will need to wall mount this TV in the bedroom. Can anyone please enlighten me wall mounting requirements/compatibilities? Thanks in advance.

very tempted, how does it go as a PC monitor

    • It'll work, but it's not going to be very sharp as the pixels will be very large. For normal desktop use involving text, I would definitely go with a smaller monitor.

      • I'm pretty sure 27" is seen as the highest to go with desktop monitors and even then those monitors usually have 2560 x 1440 native resolution so going to a 32" PC monitor I wouldn't advice unless your using it as a HTPC.

        • The highest to go desktop wise is 30" 2560x1600 16:10 ratio fyi. The price tag between the 2 is rather high though but u get what u pay for in the end, premium items have premium prices.

    • I have a 21"(?) TV with 1366x768 resolution and its really nowhere near as nice as my old 19" monitor in terms of color and sharpness. I was tempted too, but now I think about it, I wouldn't do it again.

    • im using this tv as my computer monitor, games look great on it! cant complain for 200$ thats for sure. seems ok for text but i wouldnt be reading text on the thing for a long time.

    Extended Warranty: $28 for 1 year & $55 for 2 year ..

    Worth it?

    • +1

1 year later this tv will only cost you maybe $150 -$100 to replace it. So decide yourself.

    • there is a really strong chance you will use it and being under $400 you get a refund or gift cards not sure which.

    • With the dse sets definitely, not sure with this brand though?
Is it a 13 month tv, too early to tell??
      $55 for 2 yr + 1yr std wty = 3yr guaranteed.

  • Anyone know how long delivery usually takes to Sydney metro area?

*Edit: nevermind, Standard Delivery is 2-3 days.

    • yup, mine took 2 business days, very fast.

  • To buy or not to buy, that is the question.

  • Bought one last month to replace an old CRT.

No regrets! Would buy it again.

  • Anyone know if this has either digital coax or s/pdif sound output?

    • Specs taken from DSE website:
      AV input x 1, RF input x 1, PC Audio input x 1, USB 2.0 Port x 1, Coaxial output x 1, VGA input x 1, HDMI input x 3, Component(Y/Pb/Pr) Input x 1

  • Saw the email and decided to order one :) not a bad price

  • bought one when this was a weekend deal a couple weeks ago. great deal!

can it record the show without turning on the TV like Samsung Smart TV? Cheers

  • thANKS, just bought one :)

Got it this morning. Wow that was fast one day shipping.

  • Got mine today very happy with it very fast shipping

  • Can this TV display a photo slideshow off a USB stick?

  • Anyone have tips on how to adjust picture quality on this TV ? I find the picture less sharp and the colours a bit washed out compared to my equally cheap 720p 32 inches TCL branded LCD TV. I tried playing with the contrast, colour temp and brightness but quality did not improve.

  • did anyone get this delivered to their local post office while no one was at home at the time of delivery?
last time i ordered from DSE they left if at the post office
it seems now for me that they want signature on delivery only

  • Mine was sent with startrack express and they take it to post office if nobody is home

    • thanks for that
when i rang startrack they said DSE doesnt allow collection from post office or their depot
will see how we go on monday
