More info: http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=f8e354903e37d6d931ad8282…

I don't know how much stock they have, but I successfully put 50 in my cart just then and it worked (I didn't actually buy it, as the deal starts tomorrow).

I've personally never had any issues with Mwave, but some user here on Ozbargain have vowed never to go back to Mwave. It's up to you if you want to be part of Mwave's 'stress test' sale ;)

    got 2

  • Cannot get past add to cart. Keep getting error occured while processing your request.

Guess I will miss out now as everyone is home from work and flooding the site.

So much for comments about upgraded bandwith etc, all talk I guess, just to shut down the complainers.

    • @ johninmelb

Going to leave work soon, and just saw your post in my mail.

Try closing the whole browser and re-open.

If that doesn't work try FireFox or Safari or Chrome (don't use IE)

      Have a nice weekend

    Hi Guys,

I just spoke to the supplier and have secured more stock.

So will be increasing the qty for sale which should last throughout this weekend for you guys.

Cheers & have a nice weekend!

  • Nice one mwave! few of my friends just bought a few :)

  • +1

Thanks got 2 and had the option to pickup. Added another separate item and pickup was available. Total of around $14 for 3 items.

  • I just bought two and then saw its Wireless N 150 and not Wireless N 300. Is there a way to cancel and get a refund?

    • LOL for $2.5 you are complaining about it not being N300?
Something like this is good to bring overseas on trips though.
I had a tplink one, which was awesome, allowed me to convert any ethernet port in the hotel rooms into wireless… I could use all my devices off it. It was awesome.

this one seems little big though, would have been better if it was as small as the tplink one which is slightly larger than a normal macaroon.

      • No I'm complaining because its $2.5 but $14 including postage.

Will be Interesting to see if mwave will honour lehboy's trick of buying another item with postage so that he could pick up all 3. I'd rather buy something else instead of wasting $11 for postage.

    • If the status is at Pending or Processing you can cancel it via their website. Find your order then go from there.

  • Great price! Unfortunately the stock firmware doesn't support my 3G stick (Huawei E353), and there's no OpenWRT or DD-WRT support at this stage. Damnit!

  • Rep, half way through the order and was stopped dead by the statement below in your ordering system. Please explain this. I doubt many people are in the situation where they can wait at the door all day long indefinitely for your courier service to deliver. What happens if they are come when there to answer the door. Good companies will either deliver to the closet post office, or provide a number so you can organise a fixed time for redelivery.
    What do you guys do????

    IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
For quick delivery it is highly recommended that a WORK ADDRESS or PO BOX is selected. If these cannot be provided then provide a HOME ADDRESS where SOMEONE is available to accept and sign for delivery between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

If the address provided and no one is available to sign for your order then it will be delayed and/or returned back to Mwave. Further shipping charges will apply should Mwave need to re-ship your order to you if the initial attempt to deliver was unsuccessful.

    • That's pretty standard…. I usually send small items to work and if I need a larger item I try to organise someone to be at home…. You do usually get tracking information so you don't have to dit around for days

      • the first part is, i.e. work address preference, the second part is not standard or normal or acceptable. As I said, redelivery or leaving it at an australia post is normal.

The comment about mwave being questionable.. I wonder if shipping practises has anything to do with this????
Strange the rep is not here, given he's got a sale on. Also found the website has problems getting "Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request." on Firefox.

        • I think you're overreacting a little Paulo. It's sent by courier, not Aus Post, so if no one is home for delivery you're likely to get a card to call them - you then rearrange delivery or collect from their depot. Every courier company I know sends back the goods to the sender if the goods aren't collected within a set period of time. Mwave is just covering the scenario when you don't bother to collect.

Anyway, if you're not happy with the terms & conditions, don't buy. Simple.

        • Mine says sent with aae express who do deliver to post office I got mine sent to my po box

        • Gav, seeking clarification here not looking to overreact, not sure if you read my original question properly. cheers anyway.

        • Thanks Lazer.

    • AAE attempted delivery at 0730hr today (OK I'm a heavy sleeper). Note indicated left at local post office. Tracking confirmed it was already there by 0948hr. So I see no problem.

  • It is so frustrating … I put in order 2 times and both had the same issue - both gave me error message about not able to send payment to seller (at paypal website) and have to return to seller website. 1st ttime I have to ask mwave to cancel my order and 2nnd time as well and now I have to wait till mwave cancel my order before I can put in again.

Misleading price. Actually $14.28 with credit card or paypal (normal payment methods). Pick up not allowed. Very poor form but don't expect much from Mwave.

    • Just buy 2 and its like $8 each :)

      • I generally avoid buying from companies that mislead. It kind of encourages the practice.

        • And still you bitch about it…… some folks are never pleased. Not misleading and you know exactly what you are being charged for upon checkout. Top deal which ever way you look at it but hardly worth a neg. Free country but plenty do not agree with you.

        • If it was a reputable company, I'd give it another chance. But since its mwave, they have been dodgy from their previous router sale http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65184. Never learned. You're right, some folk do have a higher standard, not wanting to be advertised to like we're middle class common plebeian consumers who don't know the first thing about marketing 101. Will probably get negged for this haha

PresidentClinton, based on rules as I understand them I believe this deal must include minimum shipping price in the title, as it's mandatory. I guess no-one has reported it.

these are still available. but can't seem to add to cart

"Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request."

    • It's working now.

  • Just recieved my 2 :)

  • also received my 2 already

got the latest dd-wrt build up and running
    DD-WRT v24-sp2 (02/11/13) std (SVN revision 20675)
of course you lose 3G/USB functionality but I have no use for that anyway
seems to be working fine as an access point
    also going to try openwrt
(same Ralink SoC as dir-300 rev b, so these builds seem to be compatible)

    • What benefit does installing DD-WRT provide over what is included in the DLINK firmware?

      • i usually find you get enhanced stability/performance using custom router firmware
plus heaps more functionality and settings to customise, as well as new features that only DD-WRT has

edit: success with openwrt also - usb support also possible - testing now

    • openwrt work ok? apparently it supports 3g

      • i had to manually edit the source to get the usb controller working in openwrt
but i've confirmed it working with usb mass storage devices
i dont have a 3G modem to try but it should work via the usual means
although under openwrt wifi performance seems to be less the half what i was getting with dd-wrt

        • are you able to make us a brief guide on how to install openwrt and how to get USB working , if thats no trouble

        • im working on a more optimised build of openwrt, since some of the most obvious things like LED configuration and number of lan ports differs from the DIR-300 B1
i will try to compile a build with GUI and 3G support tomorrow along with instructions for those that are interested in trying it out

        • +3

please find attached latest build of openwrt trunk (r35819) including luci gui (r9672)
along with my own patches compiled in

          https://mega.co.nz/#!4Vpk1ZDC!ZaDh7WM-9U3OzZBVWYCmRjBQ1elaXl…

          -device specific profile added
-LAN/switch configuration optimised for single port
          -USB port activated
          -LED/Button support

this is a minimal build not including things like firewall/dhcp server/3g modem support

in order to flash you just need to enter emergency mode
so connect LAN port to PC, set static IP on PC to 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0
unplug device power, hold down reset button, plug power back in, keep reset held for 5-10 sec
now go to http://192.168.0.1/ in web browser and you should be at the emergency recovery page where you can choose the supplied firmware file and upload to flash
wait approx 5 min, and if successful power led will be solid green and ethernet led lit, set your PCs static IP now to 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0, enter http://192.168.1.1/ in your web browser to get access to the LuCI GUI, or use telnet, set root password and then use ssh for shell access

        • +100 votes and thank you x100 from me.

Put this in the forum… more chances to get noticed than hiding on page 2 in this expired deal.

        • thanks. i installed it and it seems to work ok. my 3g dongle (huawei e160e) isn't recognised. i can see the device on the usb bus using lsusb. i'll have another fiddle with it if i get time over the weekend

    • Been trying to get this working as an access point using the stock firmware with no luck (by turning off DNS, and matching up wireless network details on a different channel). Do I need to move onto DD-WRT to get this to work, or am I missing something ??

  • In case you were after something that does not require a dongle, can use MicroSD storage and can be used with battery power, then consider this one instead:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95036

  • upgrade to latest firmware v1.15 if you have optus e160e modem ftp://files.dlink.com.au/products/DIR-412/REV_A/Firmware/Fir…

  • Mine arrived today. Still no idea what I'll use them for, but thanks mwave anyhow! As an aside, has anyone noticed a sudden increase in the number of these on offer on eBay? <grin>

  • Lol COTD selling these for $29.95 PP LOL

The route will complaint about Country is not entered. Ignore that.
