12 Inch Tool/Lunchbox $3 Kmart

1390

I messed up their display a lil trying to postition a few so you guys see them when opened and whatnot.

These seem to have come down a few dollars since the last toolbox mayhem at kmart.
These have good clasps aswell.

They had slightly larger ones for $6.

Also one HTC velocity left for $199 for anyone that missed out.

      wow, tough crowd.. :P

  • +2

not sure which kid wants to look like a tool!

    • +1

If they had 12", I doubt they'd care too much.

      • +2

I've already got the 12 inch - just need the box to "store" it in

  • Any one know which one is better, this or the Masters one…

    http://www.masters.com.au/product/900018662/keter-tool-box-3…

    • Masters one is an entire extra inch wide. Kmart one has clear compartments on top of the lid, and dual catches. It probably depends on what is more important to you out of those things…(and how much petrol it'll cost you to get to kmart or masters)

I've got a very similar Keter brand toolbox I've had for ~12 years. Very tough, has been routinely used as a stool and a seat. The Keter wil be a much safer bet than the unknown "Performer", I can't beleive the Keter is only $3. IMHO 1 latch that works is enough, 2 just means harder to open etc 1-handed.

      Nice find on the Keter.

        Hmm, a stoolbox?

didn't the Aussie swimmers abuse that drug while in London for the Olympics?

        • and not just the drug…

    • kmarts, cos u can drive down the road to find one and some open 24/7

  • Would anyone know if available at casula 24/7 KMART?

    • Yes available. They say its their normal price. Good value though.

    • none at Casula

      • None? They told me they had heaps, they're a normal line. They said they had lots up the back. Wow they must have sold fast. I got a family member to purchase mine - got it at Campbelltown Mall I believe.

  • I've already got a 12 inch tool, thanks. I could certainly use a new lunchbox though!

  • Can be use as a lunchbox?

  • +4

If it says tool box, Please don't use it to carry lunch, you can never be sure what material grade of plastic has been used to make these.

All boxes are not created the same.

+1 for the post, and the effort, please think about if you really want to use it to carry lunch.

So not ideal for use as a soup container?

      • +3

        Yes it is!

But alas not if you want to eat the soup.

        • just buy the can of soup and drink it from the can, then you don't need the lunch box

      • +2

So not ideal for use as a soup container?

if your at a point in life where you are seriously considering a $3 plastic toolbox as a vessel to hold your soup….. then go right ahead.. i think this one will be just about perfect for your needs……

        • +11

Hopefully with the 3 dollars you save not buying this toolbox for your soup, you can hopefully afford a cheap blackmarket sense of humour from a dodgy stall somewhere.

    • +2

Would it be suitable for a bear trap?

  • +3

Only Bob the Builder would use one for a Lunchbox lol

    • +2

I asked him about it and he said even if he wanted to he couldn't, he's on his last warning from OH&S.
      http://sia-gus007.blogspot.com.au/2007/02/bob-builder-safety…

      • OH&S are a bunch of tossers. I used to ride around on the mudguard of the tractor my Dad was driving as a kid. It didn't hurt me, didn't hurt me, didn't hurt me, didn't hurt me, didn't hurt me.

      • I honestly don't know how to react to what I just read…
Is that guy for real or is it a joke?

  • Good deal, wouldn't use it for a lunch box though lolz. I +1'd the deal before even sizing it up since you deserve it for the thoughtful effort you put in :)

This will fit my Footlong subway nicely lol :)

Not trying to boast, but I do NEED a twelve inch tool box.

Came for the penis puns in the comments. Was not disappointed.

    • Oh come on! Don't downvote the guy off the page just for having a little fun

  • +3

I already have a box I just need the twelve inch tool. Where can I get one here in Perth?

    • Gay Bar maybe?

    • +1

If you have the box already, you can as many tools as you can handle.

    • +4

to paraphrase Kevin Costner "If you open it they will come"

  • I always tell the women that I have one foot. Seems to gain me sympathy, for some reason.

    • +5

thanks for coming on here, Adam Hills !

      • No worries, it was on the way to Gordon Street.

  • Are these stackable?

    • +5

No. Those shown in the photo are not in fact stacked, but had to be superglued together on top of one another by store staff to give the appearance of stackability, purely for the OP's photo opportunity.

    • While Shayne3's comment was pretty awesome, I'll answer what you were actually asking ;)
No, they won't set into one another. The top of the box is flat and the indent you can see in the bottom of the opened one has nothing to sit over. They will however, rest on each other.

      • +1

Ahhhhhh right, now I'm with you :-D

  • Are these for all Kmart stores?

    • There were heaps in Toowong, Qld.

  • +1

I tried to fill a 12" toolbox, I put it in 3 times then started crying :(

  • Thanks OP :D

  • gotta get one
