Good price. We use this at home and can testify this is a bargain.

great price…i would have cleaned out the stock at this price point for now.

  • this is a good price. i paid $20 for the aluna jug at aldi but only 1 filter. however i dont recommend this jug you are better off buying the premium version or a benchtop one. i complained to brita and they sent me another one and same problem - its the design.

the top of the jug is not even so when you fill it if your looking at the front level and the back will overflow

you have to take the whole lid off to fill it and this is difficult because it is like a vaccum and easy to break, no specific handle and it takes the filter with it with means you have to wash the whole thing out again because it sucks the charcoal down

it is really slow, they put a peice of plastic in it under the filter for no other reason that to make it slow, this blocks the hole and i took over 24 hours to filter the contents.

Are we talking about the same design? The filter in this jug is at bottom of the white plastic piece which stays with the jug when you take the lid off. Which isn't a problem for me, just put your fingers under the hollow.

Huh? Mine filters in a few minutes. Maybe a manufacturing defect in yours?

BTW, you realise you are supposed to push the cartridge down until the seal at the bottom is pierced don't you?

      • dont take it personally greenpossum. i get it, you love yours but i didnt.

i was talking about the aluna as i stated so if your talking about the aluna then yes we are talking about the same. the white plastic peice is not fixed in the jug. i already said its the actual design, i got a replacement from brita and email correspondence same thing they admit they do it because its their basic model.

the peice of plastic under the filter is not part of the filter cartridge. the cartridge does not go slow, as you should see when you follow the instructions and soak/remove the air pockets before putting it in the jug. i use the same ones in the premium brita jugs no problem. the aluna just is designed differently. if you get the premium one and compare you will probably see what im talking about.

if the seal wasnt broken it wouldnt drain at all. if you put water in without the filter and the plastic peice is blocking it then no water will drain through.

much better to get one thats even and you dont need to take the lid off evertime you top it up

        • Yes, I have an Aluna, and no problems with the filtering rate. I don't have any plastic piece blocking the water, so as I said, maybe you got a dud. And sure the lid is a little fiddly to pop off, you need two hands, but no big deal.

  • reckon other woolworths wud have this..

  • Anyone find it elsewhere?
