  • Just curious will any bargainers take Premium Economy or Business??

    • PE is a huge leap up from Economy. My family and I were fortunate enough to be bumped up to PE on a return flight from HKG-SYD. No idea why, but no complaints from me! Had heaps of leg room, nicer food, nicer drinks and a little tablecloth. If you can afford it, it's worth it.

      • I have a different point of view. I get extra legroom by booking exit-row seats. "Nicer food, nicer drinks, and a little tablecloth" I don't think is worth the extra coin.

        • I see what you mean, but the difference between Economy and Premium Economy to Singapore is $300 return - not bad considering an exit row seat is about $125 per leg last time I checked. (That was to London, but I'm pretty sure it's a fixed price.)

        • $1998 - $698 is not $300…it's $1300. I'm not sure if that's a justifiable amount to pay for a flight under 8 hours. Business to Economy is a justifiable however, due to the large difference in terms of both hard and soft product experience. Premium Economy, not so much.

  • Looks like good value for a full fare airline compared to SIA and MAS. Need something similar from Adelaide.

          Yea how did u get 92k points with $75???

        • no, it costs whatever you price points at plus $75

    • no more to pay? taxes inclusive?

      • Yeah 92k no more to pay. Use the Points+Pay thing and move the slider to the left!

        • ..hmm but a return using QF points are only 60000?
          yes you need to pay tax on top but still IMO is a waste

        • nope, 92k no tax. no more to pay fly awayyyyyyyyyy!

  • Similar prices from Melb. Looks like Qantas finally want to compete

    for anyone interested you can get a singapore to hong kong ticket or vice versa for around $60 on jetstar and $198 sgd for singapore to syd on scoot.
    if you tie that in with the one way ticket from qantas you can go syd=>hk=>singapore=>syd for around 650

    • may take that route if can get enough annual leave :)

  • Pretty good deal. most of them the dates are mid april - 18th june

    e.g 350 on syd-sin one way on mid apr - 18th june

  • Good deal

  • Fail.

    $349 Sydney > Singapore
    $349 Perth > Singapore

    Does anyone else see something wrong there?

  • Oh I want a return trip to Bangkok and 2 weeks in Pattaya so bad!!

  • Aw I want to get to Beijing 1 way from Brisbane… I wonder if it's worth bothering going to Shanghai… or trying another website (I have no idea where to look, does anyone have some ideas?)?

    SYD-SINGAPORE FOR 508 RETURN
    SYD BANGKOK 770 RETURN.

    :) Peace and love

    • Lexty are these direct flights?

      I can't find a Bangkok direct flight from Sydney for less than $1K?

      • I saw about $700 in May and June.

  • Now I'm really regretting booking AirAsia return for $700 each from Melbourne in May….should have waited a few weeks and booked on this!

    A word of warning to any Qantas Club Members or Qantas Frequent Flyers;

    The new Qantas arrangements for all destinations (except Americas) could lead to some expensive flights if you aren't aware of the changes.

    For example if you were Platimum Status and were to arrive at the airport with 96kg (previous allowance) for an economy flight to/from Singapore, you would be charged $1380 because (under the new system) you would be 46kg overweight !!!

    From 26 February 2013 for travel on or after 31 March 2013+ the weight limits have gone DOWN in some cases SIGNIFICANTLY;

    • Qantas Club members and Silver Qantas Frequent Flyers
      2 pieces (maximum 23kg (50lb) per piece) in Economy —-> 46kg DOWN to 42kg
      3 pieces (maximum 23kg (50lb) per piece) in Premium Economy —-> 69kg DOWN to 52kg
      3 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Business/First —-> 96kg DOWN to 62kg

    • Gold Qantas Frequent Flyers
      2 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Economy —-> 64kg DOWN to 46kg
      3 pieces (maximum 23kg (50lb) per piece) in Premium Economy —-> 69kg DOWN to 56kg
      3 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Business/First —-> 96kg DOWN to 66kg

    • Platinum/Platinum One Qantas Frequent Flyers
      3 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Economy —-> 96kg DOWN to 50kg
      3 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Premium Economy —-> 96kg DOWN to 60kg
      4 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) in Business —-> 128kg DOWN to 60kg
      4 pieces (maximum 32kg (70lb) per piece) First —-> 128kg DOWN to 70kg

    I hope this helps some people avoid some massive excess fees…

    • Good post Dave. I hadn't been told about this… Price gouging!!!

      good post, indeed it is frustrating for those of us with Gold or Platinum+ status that travel in Economy but make the most of baggage allowances!
