Call of Duty Black Ops (XBOX360 DLC) - $2.95 for AUSTRALIA ONLY

1730

This is most likely a pricing error, but I and many others just managed to pick up Call of Duty Black Ops during the XBOX Live Ultimate Gaming Sale for $2.95AUD

Not much else to say apart from GET IT WHILE ITS HOT!

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-au/Product/Call-of-Duty-Black…

UPDATE: Just to be clear for anyone getting confused with this, if you click the link and it shows a higher price it means you're probably on the US/UK/SG/possibly other site. Continue to the final step of purchasing where you select credit card/paypal or ms points to purchase and you'll see the right price (if you don't it means they've corrected/changed it - please let us all know!) Happy gaming! :D

Also changed to a more direct link, thanks guys :)

FINAL UPDATE: it appears they caught on… its showing as $9.95 now :( enjoy to all that got it!

    priced about what it's worth

    • i'm not a massive fan of the game either, but i do love a bargain and this is definitely a good price :)

    • +2

      DAE hate Call of Duty???

  • +2

says it's $34.90 on the actual buy it page

    • +2

Go through the consoles marketplace, it says $2.95 / 480MSP.

      • +1

        My Paypal receipt shows

        Subtotal $2.68 AUD
        Tax $0.27 AUD
        Total $2.95 AUD
        Payment $2.95 AUD

    • Yes it does, but if you buy it comes up at $2.95 or 480 MS Points

    • +2

Continue and it shows the $2.95 price on the next page.

For those unfamiliar with marketplace website, the search brings back a COD page with dog tags showing. Click on those to proceed to marketplace. Click on the Buy it for 34.90. And continue..

Although the Add new PayPal account payment option is not proceeding for me.

      • NICE

    • It said $34.90 but when I clicked to buy it price through the website it came up as 2.95 or 480 points

  • GOT IT. Thank you so much for posting.

  • Bought for $2.95 through PayPal, thanks OP.

  • Lets do this guys. We can build up Aussie XBL community.

Also the game is the 7th most played on XBL according to Major Nelsons blog.

  • perfect, purchased before they caught onto it. now i just need the time to play it.
At least this wont collect dust like the pile of DSE games bought from last year i am still aiming to get around to. Black ops 3 will probably be out by the time i get to it i reckon

  • Got it for 480 MS points that have been sitting in my account for ages, thanks OP

  • +2

We need a bigger Aussie ZOMBIES community, get onto it!

  • +4

Lol..Nice one! Not a fan of the series but at that price who can say no??

  • how do you actually buy it, i just see a link with some video

EDIT: is this the xbox marketplace?

    http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-sg/Product/Call-of-Duty-Black…

  • 480 points spent

  • I've had a ton of points from a previous deal on Xbox Live points here on Ozbargain..

Have picked up RE6, Blops and SSX for a pittance. Love you long time, Ozb.

  • Do you think someone is making these Australian pricing "mistakes" on purpose?

  • When I try to buy it, it keep redirect me to MS page:

We don't recognize the PC you're using
We want to make sure this is you. To continue, please sign in using one of the following PCs instead:

I don't know what to change in my security info because I am in the office now.

  • 480 points is $8 though should have calculated that beforehand it should have been 180 points

    • Yeah 480 MSP should be $8.

      • Grrrr hope they made a mistake. Can't access the Marketplace from work so called up the Mrs to buy it for me. So never got to check the price.

  • Yeah, why are you guys using the points, 2.95 cash is much better…

    • -4

Only if you pay full price for your points. You can buy 4000 points for as little as $45-50 which means by using points you get a discount on your discount.

You paid $2.95. I paid $2 using points.

      • Where do you get these mysterious discount points from regularly? Ive managed a few times but its far from a reliable occurence.

        • +1

from Ebay sellers. There's a thread on whirlpool which helps.

      • +2

at $50/4000 points that's still $6 for the game

        • -1

well I posted that not knowing about the supposed price difference. Everything else at $2.95. I thought we were talking about cash being better simply because it wasn't points.

      • +1

isn't 480 points worth $4 in your calculation?

      • +3

$2 for a 480 point purchase would equate to $16.66 for 4000 points, not "as little as $45-50".

        • Thought it seemed a bit off,

  • +1

on the main page it says $34.90, but when i click on the button to buy it changes to $19.99 plus tax

    • -3

Are you doing it via the console itself? As said above, you can not get the $2.95 price via the website.

      • +3

You most definitely can get it for $2.95 via the website, as I just did.

    • Sounds like your account isn't an Australian profile

I have 2, one based in USA which I found the same problem when I Logged into it accidentally
Was all fine when I logged on with my Australian profile

  • +4

Here's the link direct to the game page so you don't have to go through the movie:

    http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-au/Product/Call-of-Duty-Black…

  • +1

    Wow this website is awful

  • It's definitely $2.95 in the console marketplace. COD 2 and 3 are $9.95. No changes to MW3 or Blops2 yet…

    • There is a change to BO2 and MW3, its just shit.

  • +6

when i try to go for paypal it just keeps loading and not doing anything

    • +1

      I'm getting the same

Edit: Ended up adding a credit card instead of paypal

      • +2

Me to, it doesn't load the paypal screen.

I got around this by closing that popup and going to 'my account' (https://live.xbox.com/en-AU/Account?xr=mebarnav) and 'Manage Payment Options', entering your payment options there, after that you can complete the checkout by selecting that method from the list. Make sense?

        • Yes did that, works great!

      • +1

I added a credit card to my xbox once….. NEVER AGAIN.

        • why? what can happen?

        • Fucking impossible to remove.

        • I just removed mine without any issues.

    • +4

      the website is baddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • when you guys use paypal, do you use your email or paypal name? I used both but it's still just loading and it's still loading

EDIT: yea the credit card one worked haha

  • +1

    i thought about getting this
but then thinking about it some more, i already used to own the game - i got bored quickly and sold it. so even at 3 bucks it's still a waste as i'll likely never ever ever play this,

  • Great got it!
Wow pretty convoluted to get to it… I also had paypal issue but used CC instead.

    Cheers OP

  • I give up. I goto the game page and it shows $2.95 but when I click buy, it comes back with $19.99 plus tax to confirm the payment. Could it be because I am a free member and does not have xbox live Gold membership?

    • No, I haven't owned a Xbox 360 console in about 5 years, I can assure you that the 1 month gold trial they gave me expired long ago.

    • It's because your profile is USA based

  • Got it Thanks

  • +1

    RE: PayPal Issues

I got around this by closing that popup and going to 'my account' (https://live.xbox.com/en-AU/Account?xr=mebarnav) and 'Manage Payment Options', entering your payment options there, after that you can complete the checkout by selecting that method from the list. Make sense?

    • I did the same. So I have both Paypal and CC on file. There is a direct link to gamepage given by theotherson and when I go there, it shows $2.95 but when I click buy, it changes to $19.99. Not sure how to get around that as many seem to be getting it for $2.95 here.

      • Ok! So I was getting moved to US site. I had to change region on my account and was able to buy at $2.95. Great deal!

  • Thanks OP. PayPal was timing out for me so I used the credit card option and it worked.

  • zzz why cant it be for the pc, only xbox =\

  • Thanks, bought it through the console with PayPal.

  • THANK YOU

    got this but missed halo reach : ( : ( : (

  • Thanks OP and CyberGenesys.. It works by using method from CyberGenesys. I bought it with AUD $2.95

  • +1

Just about to buy then realised I dont have an Xbox :) I nearly got OZbargained

  • Got it using paypal, had no problems. Thanks OP.

  • Looks like Some Tom Clancy games are $2.95 too

  • Awesome deal and excellent value for money :). I've had the game since launch on PS3 and there's plenty of fun to be had just in Zombies mode! And then there's always the singleplayer campaign (which is pretty average for your standard shootery explosions boomboom game), multiplayer (not my sort of thing), a top down shooter mini-game and even Zork.

I didn't know you could buy the $ displayed items with MS points until someone talked about it in a previous post. I bought Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD for 320 points this morning and that was $4.95 so I have no idea how $2.95 = 480 points. I guess it could vary by item but …I don't know :P

Last time I checked (months ago) it was still $16 for 1000 points so paying by MS points seems a bit more expensive than paying the $ value. I don't know, just something to keep in mind! Microsoft and their weird space bucks…

    • Depends where you buy them, I got some off eBay this morning for $46 for 4000 points, so that works out to be $11.50 per 1000 points. Yet even working in that, 480 points = $5.52, and that seemed to be the cheapest you could get the points on there.

So. I clue what that guy is in, something good obviously :-P

  • Cheers OP worked a treat

  • Looks like its ended $34.90 now

    • At checkout it should still show as normal price, it did that for me but still on billing.micorsoft at 2.95 charge :)

    • It's still working. If you click on buy it, it will show correct price at checkout page.

    • Bought it on my console just then, charged $2.95 to my PayPal! Sweet. Cheers OP!

  • Still worked for me :)
    Thanks OP!

  • Still working. Thanks OP

  • I have an xbox 360 4gb kinect version, just wondering will I be able to buy it online and then turn on my xbox to download the game onto a usb flash drive? I dont have my console with me now so have to use PC to buy, and I'm not sure whether I can play this using a flash drive as I have no hdd.
by the way 2.95 is a real bargain, thanks OP.

    • you can use usb flash drive, but the maximum that XBOX can see is only 16GB.

      • +1

Up to 32GB is now supported.

  • Worked for me too. Thanks!

  • Mazing deal. heat!

  • +1

lol! Maybe some goodwill from MS for being ripped of for so many years…

  • awesome WORK!!!!

  • Dont need it, Probably wont install it let alone play it but its CHEAP

    • +4

Your telling me, I don't even have an xbox and I bought it…

  • Thanks for the share. Charged my CC $2.95

  • What a sweet deal

  • Hell yeah cheers!

  • Best option is to buy directly through Xbox. "Ultimate Game Sale" should come up on Dashboard and easy to buy many games. Got two Tom Clancy games for $2.95 each plus this call of duty.

  • Thanks. Got it!

  • thanks OP…downloading now…extremely slow…

  • +1
