  • Not bad - looks like it is basically $10 each.

    • +1

      $10.65.

      • Only if you can pickup.

        • +1

          If you can't: $11.65.

        • And if anyone asks me…I'll just tell them $10.

        • LIAR!

  • Some great titles here.

    • +6

I liked you in Boardwalk Empire, Steve!

    • I liked you in Ghost World, Steve

    • Wedding Singer for mine was your highlight. "True" never sounded so good

  • Has this not been going for a while?

    • About a week and a bit

    • No, it has.

(I hate double negatives, or whatever that question was)

  • $4.93 for 3 movies… Finally found a use for a Xmas gift card :)

    • +1

What titles you getting that make it that price?

      • +1

Sorry for the confusion, I meant $4.93 AFTER using my free $30 gift card.

Since it was only costing me $1.64/movie I got 21 Jump St, Battleship and Total Recall. There wasn't anything that I don't already have that I'd actually have paid $10-12 for.

        • +9

Should've got something you already had over Battleship…

        • Haha. I didn't think it was THAT bad, if you just watch it for the action, rather than the story and acting.

        • +1

how about any of the first 3 Die Hards, I'm considering all three at this price. I know there's a quadrilogy set but the 4th movie was pretty meh.

        • Already have all 4.

4 is the best for picture and sound quality, I use it as a demo disc sometimes. I really enjoy the movie too.

        • Stone - I'll never understand people who can enjoy action that has no point to it. If you don't care about the characters involved then the action will be boring because you don't care if anyone gets hurt/dies, you don't care who wins, there's no excitement or fear or anything. It turns into just stuff moving about.

Battleship? That movie is funny! It's not meant to be serious (or at least the actors aren't taking it seriously). I think it's unfair to criticise a movie which is intentionally meant to be bad.

I'd say there's a fair bit of difference between Battleship and Transformers 2 if you catch my drift.

Also Rhianna gives the performance of a lifetime. I love that part where she's like "word I'm a token black gurl, sup?".

I feel racist for upvoting your comment, but it's so true.

        • I agree that there's a world of difference between Transformers 2 and Battleship.

I really like the director of Battleship - Peter Berg. He's usually pretty good at taking a goofy concept and making the characters fun but can still be taken seriously at time (Welcome to the Jungle/The Rundown and Hancock) and even pretty decent at a straight up drama/political intrigue film (The Kingdom). These were all well formed movies with interesting characters and a plot and story that made perfect sense. Were they also a bit cheesy? OK, yes. But they played up to it well.

Welcome to the Jungle and Hancock are examples of cheesy/bad being done well.

Battleship doesn't do that, though. It falls flat with uncharismatic characters doing things that are largely inconsequential. There are multiple things that happen purely because if they didn't then the plot wouldn't proceed according to plan. There's no actual reason for it, no-one would actually do that, but they just need it to happen to get to the next scene so it happens. It's not so bad it'll turn me away from Berg though, and it certainly doesn't put him in the Bay level of "I don't give a shit about plot, story or characters. Make shit explode!".

        • Wanna see well done cheese (apart from on a pizza).

Go and find some early Peter Jackson films. His earliest (Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, Brain Dead) as the best Z grade cheese since the Toxic Avenger.

        • Own them all. All superior choices to Battleship :)

  • +1

Wait for the inevitable 20% off and it will be even cheaper!

    • Was thinking the same thing.

    • ^^ This. Was about to shop 3 titles, but thanks to Sith Lord Hasbro, he awoke the inner Ozbargainer-chlorians in me and now I shall wait until this time that balance will be restored to the blu-rays.

  • What's some titles people picking up?

    • I got Lawrence of Arabia, Jaws Digibook and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Haven't seen Lawrence of Arabia yet so keen to see that one on Blu-Ray.

      • +2

Lawrence of Arabia looks absolutely phenomenal on bluray. Great purchase there mate.

        • Hope you have a cinema in your house to really do that film justice.

        • I've got a decent Sony Wharfedale setup which has made the neighbors windows vibrate on occasion. The TV could be bigger (46 inch) but I've got a small lounge room so it's adequate enough for now. I'd love to get a projector in some day and fill up as much of the wall as I can though :)

      @xDEFiNE

I hear you. If I paid for all my movies, I'd be looking at who knows how much. Lol.

  • +1

How come Independence Day is $36.99 while almost all the rest are $15.98? Does FOX really think it's worth over twice the price as almost any other movie?

  • How long has JB not done free delivery?

  • Wish they'd have 2 for 1 on Bluray TV shows like last time. Still good deal btw.
