    Creative's EMU20K2 chip is renowned for distortion despite its claimed SNR so if your after precise sound reproduction on high end hardware it is not the sound card for you

    Creative cards are great for gaming and post processing effects and the price is great, I paid $150 for a used X-Fi Fatality and I love it

    May just be me… but when it's available for a somewhat mere $19.95 more direct from Creative's AU store (and presumably then with a better warranty process), what's the appeal to get it from Amazon?

      Some people don't live next to the store that has it for $115 for pickup. Including local postage, it get's more expensive here in Australia. From Amazon, it's $110.14 delivered anywhere in Aus. Good for people who cannot pickup locally.

        no offence op… but did you read my comment at all? i didnt mention any stores involving pickup… and i didn't mention $115 as a price…

        it is available for $129.95 with FREE SHIPPING directly from Creative

        comparing to buying from amazon, presumably the advantages buying from Creative is:

        • local warranty
        • faster postage

        if i was after one of these… i know what way i would buy. sacrificing local warranty for a $19.95 saving isn't worth it imo
