an update: having been on the Megasaver Yearly plan am upgrading to their latest offer - Megasaver Premium Yearly - all the same benefits as the normal plan PLUS they give 100 FREE minutes of calls to mobiles every month (to any network in Australia)! Thats on top of the 100 free local/national calls already included… don't think i've heard of any other company doing that before, and for just $199 for the whole year. And they allow to upgrade to the Premium plan with just pro-rata charges for the months you were on the normal yearly one.

    You may wish to compare to MNF's whirlpool specials.

    Also Pennytel charge 10.5c/min for mobiles. Their Crazy talk plan includes 500 mins (or 150 calls) to mobiles per months plus unlimited local/ national calls for $18.88 per month.

    What about a cheap mobile plan from TPG — $10/mth when you're with their $49.99 or above internet plans? :p

    Whilst the TPG plans looks alright the actual cost of the calls is not. My Telstra mobile charges are cheaper than TPG. MNF & PT don't charge flagfalls and time per second, not in 30sec blocks. A short call with either can cost a few cents.

    I think most cap palns are not as good a value as they might first seem as the actual call charges aren't so cheap.
