Buy One $20 iTunes Card Get One Free @ Harvey Norman (Australia Wide?)

2180

I think the title and picture says it all. Similar to previous deals from Harvey Norman.

Buy 1 $20 itunes card and get another $20 itunes card free this Saturday and Sunday.

The deal is in today's Daily Telegraph and I'm not sure if its available Australia wide.

      • Agree, it's just commonsense.

    • It is the sales persons who have commissions for selling extended warranties or monster cables are the dodgy ones. Those staff receive payments only are not that bad.

  • so is it one per customer, can you get it sent to one address but to another person? since technically its another customer

    • Exactly.

  • Officeworks South Melbourne matched no problem

    Thanks!

  • OW East Perth didn't match price grrr

Don't need extra iTune card but just want to give it a try at Castle OW and see whether they would price match.

Waited 10 mins for the store manager to show up and he said "Our system does not allow us to key in this deal. It is a national lock down in our system and we can't match this deal. It is limited to 1 deal per customer in NH and we have no way to stop customer coming back for repeat order. We have this as $16 each and it is cheapest in Australia starting tomorrow….. bababa"

Seriously, I didn't even bother to argue. Cos I KNEW as a fact that not only our fellow OZbargainers get price match in OW, I also knew someone successful got a price match in OW just the day before in a different store.

I left disappointed. OW may have saved $20 for refusing this sale. But I will never come back to this store again. They just lost me and my whole family as a customer. I simply don't like being treated stupid and being lied to. Thats all.

    just a thought.

Has anyone thought that the OW stores that DO match/beat this offer might be actually doing the (officially) wrong thing by head office? (just wondering).

    (PS - I bought 4 of this deal via mail and paid 4 x $23 = $92)

I would agree with you if they showed me the "official" pricematch T&C where it says that pricematch does not apply to itunes cards, but when i asked the manager for a copy of their T&C he went mute and walked away!
here is the official "Lowest price guarantee" policy!
      http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/landing/Lowest-price-gu…
"What items are excluded from the LPG?
Non identical products and services (inclusive of non identical warranties)
Package deals i.e. printer and computer bundles
      Cash back offers
      Resellers
      Customer special orders
      Contract Pricing"

in other words, they are full of cr@p!

Officeworks Box Hill South price matched but wouldn't take 5% off. Took several people trying to work out how to do it, etc all said we don't normally do it (BOGOF itunes), blah, blah. (1) If you don't want to sell a product to a customer stick it in your price match guarantee then and save us all time! (2) Don't think you are doing me a favour by me spending money in your store (HN is just as close for me)!
Next time I'll be shopping elsewhere. Talk about turning what could be a good retailing opportunity into a bad one. They would still be making profit that otherwise they wouldn't have made on my sale.

Mate, I'm not sure if you know this, they actually wouldn't be making a profit. Apple and Sony have very minimal margin for retailers when they resell. Whereas Harvey Norman made a profit because they probably made an arrangement with Apple already to buy it at this x amount knowing they'd put this sale up. Officeworks would have most likely bought it at a different price with Apple. Just sayin. Don't be so narrow minded. Other people in this world are also trying to make a living. Should have just gone to Harvey Norman.

        • Maybe but either way we can only make assumptions. We know (any) retailer wants to buy from suppliers at the cheapest they can get regardless of how they want to do with their stock later (Apple doesn't care and can't control the pricing, it's a free market and the retailer can give them away free if they want). My point was around clarity of Officeworks price match policy and staff education (Other Officeworks stores and DJ had no problem and their customers left happy). No one is forcing them to price match on anything, just make it clear for your customers so their isn't a mismatch with expectations.

  • I went to Target at Warringah mall if they could have price match policy. I asked a staff and he told me we never done on iTunes gift card because the credit is fixed. But they have them on sale now and it is 2 $20 iTunes card for $30. It will save you $10. The second best deal I found.

  • Got told from my local OW that their system doesn't allow them to price match iTunes cards, but I was buying other things and so they just subtracted the savings from the order total, including the 5% discount.

  • Has anyone received their iTunes cards in the mail from this deal?

    • I paid using Paypal last Sunday night, got confirmation email, the next day got tax invoice and not working tracking info and after 2 days i got the itunes cards in the mail sent from my local HN and my details on the envelope were handwritten(!).
My wife placed her order 5 minutes before i placed mine, and so far she has only got the confirmation email!
After writting back to them and calling them a couple of times i decided to open a paypal dispute, they rang me and told me that the cards are ready for dispatch since the 18/3(!!!) and if i want them i will have to close the dispute FIRST otherwise they will not send the cards and they will issue a partial refund($23-$0.31 transaction fee) ! They didn't provide any further info about the delay so i just refused to close the dispute and escalated it to a claim asking them for the tracking code of the goods or a full refund

  • After hearing about your experiences, I have 3 orders that haven't arrived yet. What do you think I should do?

    • Maybe wait as I have not received mine either (hopefully will receive them and save all the hassle and time). no email confirmation either. But I can log in and see that the order had been placed and processed

  • Still waiting…hope they arrive soon. Very frustrating!

    • Received mine today, but need to pick from Post office. (ie with signature…)

  • Yeah I got 2 of my 3…the other is with my dad (pickup at post office)
