I remember buying SX20 for $699, back in 2009. Camera prices are dropping dramatically.

They're really nice cameras. Absolutely massive zoom (50x or equivalent to 1200mm!) on them.

  It is becoming a bit of a niche market now. Since mirrorless cameras were introduced. Most people want something compact and small to put in their pockets. If they want high quality images, they choose the larger format cameras. My SX20 was almost as big as an EOS, but I found it to be a fantastic travel camera.
