How about some small sample bags?
Coffee is so hit and miss I personally wouldn't buy a kilo unless I had tried it first.

    • I'd prefer 250 grams. Anymore and it goes stale before we can use it.

IMO would be better if you didn't use the "!" at the end of your sentence.

In the spirit of loving a bargain (and an OzBargain), we've price matched this and are now offering these beans at $25 for 1kg

      • That gets my vote.

      • Good on you mate. :)

  • Whats the normal price?

    • Usually 1kg will sell for $56, its our first OzBargain ad so still learning, have updated with this info :)

      • $56 per kilo is very expensive, especially for a new in the market craft/home roaster. I haven’t tried your roast, however even if it is the high quality product you describe on your site, I would suggest “re-evaluating” the price. Even the bigger commercial guys like Toby Estate etc have cheaper single origins prices.

Can you provide any further information on your sourcing, washing, bean grade or roasting etc that sets you apart from other craft single origin roasters like Manna Beans, Dramanti or bigger houses like Toby Estate, that both charge less?

And back on topic to your deal, $25/kg is a great price for a quality single origin roast unfortunately I only recently bought my latest roast so I may have to wait until your next deal to try it out. Maybe an Ethiopian bean next time, or a choice from a small selection?

        • Hi Coley thanks for your thoughts, customer feedback is always very much valued. The reason our price may appear initially more expensive is because it also includes postage whereas for example a number of comparable market beans from Toby Estate are over $60 once shipping is included. We prefer to quote one all inclusive price for beans rather than possibly confuse the customer by adding the shipping costs at the last minute.
I believe that the price is a good balance between a fantastic product and fantastic service. As for what sets us apart, we used to live in Zimbabwe and its because of this that we believe we can offer some truly unique knowledge and advice regarding African coffees. All coffees are small batch roasted to ensure a maximised flavour profile meaning you get the best possible flavour from the beans.
And we definitely look forward to being able to offer all OzBargainers some great deals in the near future. Once again, thanks for your thoughts.

  • What do these beans taste like, for filter drinking black?

    • They're a medium bodied bean, which when black has a nice smooth flavour with a hint of chocolate and earthy malt. They also have a great aroma that accentuates the flavours and are also a great 'safe' option for people who aren't exactly sure what style they enjoy the most as they're not overpowering in any way but still have enough flavour to enjoy. hope that helps

    • I bet they taste like coffee, just as every other cup.

There's a huge difference. Some coffees taste little better than dirt.

  • Hi safariroast, just letting you know that you have a broken link. On your 'Our Coffees' page, the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe links to the wrong (Kenyan Dorman AA) coffee. Can easily find the correct page/info, but you will probably want to fix this.

    • thankyou so much for bringing that to our attention ctemby, have just fixed that issue :)

  • Is it possible to pack into 4 x 250g because of my bean hopper capacity?

  • Omg another coffee player enters! I still go to my favourite bricks and mortar roaster and pay $30 a kilo, but the personal service and ability to sample and create my own mix of roasts is better for me personally.

Sounds good to me, ive bought some.

Why the 200g size? Small home grinders seem to have 250g hoppers.

    • Hi awinner, and thanks for your order. The 200g size usually comes in at about 220gm. We have found that if Auspost aren't at their best, and we've put 250gm in a 250gm bag, then it can result in the bag being put under too much pressure which is something we try to avoid as much as possible. So, we take out the 25-30gm in order to have sufficient room should the parcel for one reason or another be not treated in a respectful way. We then sell it as 200gm since we'd rather the customer's order arrives and they find an extra cup or two worth of beans in their bag :)

      • problem though is that when you buy online, postage is a large component of the price, larger quantities help the overall cost. Are you going to make larger quantities available?
