  • as predicted, PTV3000 doesnt deliver to Australia

  • I might pick grab one of the WD My Book Live Duo's. Thanks OP.

  • I'm guessing the $411 it's listed as won't get it delivered to Australia?

  • Dumb question time… Do these need a 'power point' converter?

  • if i may ask to those who know ,more that i do..

This WD 6TB duo Live or the HP54L?

looking to use as a NAS for home, computers, photos, etc.. & media server for shows, etc but the files on the go (for our ipad, iphone, & blackberry. etc) seems cool. can this be done with the HP54L?

BTW, Noob here so go easy…

    TIA

I have the WD 3TB live, which is essentially the same as the duo Live.

Easy to set up and can be accessed remotely via the web through their wd2go app if that is what you want to do.

Media serving works reasonably well with the inbuilt media server.

Can sustain ~50MBytes/sec transfers which is reasonable for a cheap device.

You can also put a torrent server on it quite easily, but this is not a 'supported' function.

If you don't really know what you're doing, I'd recommend the WD live over the HP microserver.

      • thanks for info.
