Dropped in price..usually at $59.99 I think.

Price comparison for cd key stores, Amazon is by far the cheapest and a reputable store at that :)

I can't say this is a good deal, because this is a really shitty product. $1? Maybe. But even then it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

  • Has anyone postng in here actually played the game?

I have. Bought it during the Origin India deal, so not as angry at all the problems as I would be if I had paid full price.

With all that said, I've still somehow managed to sink about 20 hours into the game just in the last week, so despite the fact that nothing works the way it's suppose to and the game feeling more like an early alpha version, there's definitely a good game in there somewhere.

Will it get fixed? Hard to say. Will probably abandon it eventually if the major issues aren't addressed (traffic, map size, RCI weirdness), but I've played worse $28 (or in the case of this deal, $39.99) games.

I also picked it up from the Origin India deal, am really enjoying it. A bunch of mates grabbed it from the Mixican store and so we all play private regions together. Pretty fun and is a good break from Dota that we usually play.

I also pick it up from India store for $28 which entitle to a free game from EA (I pick Mass effect 3). For $28 I am not complaining, thanks to Ozbargain.

Bought it in the India deal too. I agree with DVDguy and BigTom.

Spent a heap of hours on it the first couple of days and played with some friends in a region, but the game quickly gets old.

Once your city has filled up the small area you get, it gets boring. The game looks amazing and there's some great ideas in it, but it seems unfinished. It gets to a point and just sort of stagnates.

Not sure why anyone is knocking the game at all, apart from some region quirks everything works for me. Maps should be seen more as "suburbs" rather than cities, as you can control an entire region in my mind the region is more of the "city" and the individual maps are the suburbs. Money, people, goods, police, fire, schools etc can be shared within the region. So viewed and played in this context map size is no issue.

Traffic is not an issue if roads are designed well, trains and street cars are used in conjunction with bus stops (placed off main roads) with park and rides near residential. There are heaps of forums on advanced strategy in Simcity to avoid traffic issues.

I'm not claiming to build perfect cities, but understanding the dynamic of the game helps address most of the complaints.

The biggest killer is you can go into other peoples maps and destroy their city. I havent logged in all week. Have they fixed that yet?

      • +1

Hah wow I haven't had this happen yet; I only play private regions with friends. Would be cool if they had a rewind button so you undo any player placed disasters - even seeing the animations in reverse and destroyed buildings "un-collapsing".

Tempted but I'll be out of town during Easter and won't be playing much. Plus I gotta shake off the Just Cause 2 addiction first. Damn you OzBargain! :p

I'll wait for the next (hopefully cheaper) deal.

Game is broken and should not have been released. I played it for about 2 days until I realised something was wrong when my city population got to 150k. Theres lists 8 miles long detailing all the problems with game floating on reddit an the ea forums. If you think it isn't broken, you haven't played it in detail, your "city" has 3000 population or you are blind.

    Avoid this.

  • price has changed back to 59.99 unforunately. :(
