I have the old model for $90 if anyone interested
    SAMSUNG 830 2.5-Inch 128GB SATA III MLC SSD MZ-7PC128B/WW

    • Yea I'll grab one. I bought it through the quicksales website. Cheers :)

  • "Warning! Coupon code EASTERSTORAGE2013 is no longer available" :(

    • Please use all lowercase 'easterstorage2013'. It is available until the 05-04-2013.

I was thinking of buying this but instead went with the WD Velociraptor 500GB HDD from PCCG. Needed the extra space for my iTunes tv show & movie collection plus Steam games. 128GB SSD is just too small and to buy a 500GB SSD is not economical. Sure a Velociraptor isn't as fast as SSD but still hell fast.

    • That's comparing apples with oranges

More like comparing a person with 2 broken legs to Usain Bolt in a 100m race.

        • Sure SSD is a lot faster but it's also several times more expensive per GB compared to the WD Velociraptor HDD. I look forward to when a 500GB SSD is around $150 but seems a long time off yet.

But speaking of SSD the Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD is only an extra $6 for $145 at MSY. So you've got it from Mwave for $139 + shipping or $145 at your local MSY store. So once you factor in shipping if you must have it shipped from Mwave it actually ends up cheaper at MSY.

        • Me, I'd rather pay postage and buy from somewhere other than to line up at MSY . It'll work out quicker and less offensive on the nostrils

        • Or, you could of gone the older style setup of a small SSD (ie a kingston V300 60gb for 65) and a storage drive (ie a 1tb Toshiba for 75) still cheaper then your velo

        • Yeah but some people want every thing like games etc also to be on the system drive.

        • But you use a slow drive for the system drive? You can get 500gb SSD's for around 320 bucks these days.

        • I've only seen 500GB SSD at Australian PC shops for over $400. Even at $320 would need to fork out over twice as much money compared to a same sized Velociraptor HDD. Honestly most people can't justify paying that much money just for a 500GB drive. Look forward to the day when a 500GB SSD is under $200.

    • Isn't as fast? That's rather dramatic understatement isn't it: http://anandtech.com/bench/SSD/65

In fact, it's not even in the same game, much less league.

      • True but well if you can find me a 500GB SSD for $155 please tell. Well you wouldn't because they're at least $400 at a minimum. At the moment the hard drives rule the value of $ per GB since SSD is still priced a bit high for the amount of storage space. For some people need large system drives and SSD is still too dear for it.

  • The Samsung 840 250GB SSD is also on the easter sale. Using the EASTERSTORAGE2013 coupon in the cart it brings it down to $185 + postage. This is not the Pro drive though just the standard. For those who want a 250GB SSD.

  • if your in WA ple is doing this for $98

    http://ple.com.au/

    • You're quoting the standard Samsung 840 128 SSD. What's being sold here is the Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD. Totally different drive. PLE has the Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD for $169.
