Pretty damn good deal. Convenient with one stop in Abu Dhabi over so there's no messing around with booking multiple flights etc.

    The SYD-AUH sector would be on Etihad (or perhaps codeshared and operated by Virgin Australia, on some flights).
    The AUH-AMS sector would be on KLM.

      There are other options for ~$1500 to Paris etc. Unfortunately not at the same price to Amsterdam.

      I've been to Amsterdam, it's great and there's a train you can get to London/Paris quite easily/cheap.

      And yes, grass and ass still there - although I have heard they are considering taking away grass for tourists some time soon… Unsure on how true this is.

        They made some rule that only residents can have the grass. Nobody enforces it there, though. I was there a month ago.

    Just went over there to Europe end of 2011 - was in Amsterdam for about 4 days. Hmmm not sure if worth revisiting so soon.

    I've found options on VN/AF to Paris return from Sydney for $1279, Priced for late May travel and are heavily date dependent.
