I think I have too many headphones from OzBargain already…

  • Old man brown is in it seems…

Is it just me or do these look ridiculous?

  • +1

I reckon they look sharp, and beats are ridiculous.

  • +5

Looks good, but how can I take them seriously when they mention this……

"CitiScape headphones are a creative collaboration with urban people form different cities and varied lifestyles. Our story is inspired by apparel and street style, CitiScape is a design philosophy for style, culture, music and sound."

    What a load of…

Translation: "We asked a couple of hipsters what they'd buy."

  • One of the top headphoens in the $100-$200 range, and it's only $60. Real good pair of headphones.

    • who vote it as one of the top headphones in the 100-200 aud range? you?

at 60usd, they r good though.

      • Yeh 200 is pushin it, but defs low $100s range.

It's highly comparable with the mainstream ATH M50s, which are more expensive. But depends what you like I guess, currently many like bass heavy headphones, while this is pretty flat all round - suiting most genres of music.

Still think $60 is an absolute bargain for the quality of the headphone.

  • If these had a detachable cable I would jump on them, That and I don't like volume sliders.

    Good value sound!

  • Cheers just bought a pair!
Already have the "Shibuya" version of this line, couldn't resist checking out the top of the range version.

  • Can this be folded like ath m50? Bass ok too? And fine for small head people?

    • cant be folded. bass ok. cant answer the last question (u will still survive…)

  • Don't think they fold down.

Thanks for the post, I jumped on these. Can't help myself at this price

  • what are the sound quality? is it comparable to HD202?

    • definitely better than HD202, different range.

  • I have the Downtown version of this, on ear instead of over the ear on the Uptown. The cable ain't that great, its a thin flat cable and the plug seems a bit flimsy. But no issues yet.

    • the only problem with it is the cable. read many reviews.

      • and the volume control…

otherwise, a no brainer I'd say.

  • Anyone know where in sydney i can try this? Really worry this is too bog for me.
I tried ath m50 and it slips when i nod my head - already on the smallest headband setting

    • +2

      Yes, well they are brown.

      • sorry didnt get what you mean. brown = big?

      • I see what you did there

    • +1

Harvey Norman stores tend to have them on display to try (Definitely at Liverpool). Otherwise, probably any good audio store.

    • I live next to Broadway shopping centre, I'm pretty sure the HN store has them.

  • Hey Guys,

    I have a pair of aiaiai Tma-1's

Wondering if the uptowns are rated better?

    cheers

    • +1

Black version is also available from the same seller:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Philips-CitiScape-Uptown-Overhead…

    • lol I was just about to add that.. black version is MUCH nicer

      • not really.

  • Couldn't bloody resist. Got a pair of the black/brown.

Read and watched hours of reviews(head fi etc). They are meant to be fantastic.

If your wondering if you should, get them. Absolute steal at this price.

    Thanks OP!

Just chiming in with a random fact, this seller given its location etc (I work down the road) is actually Crest Electronics (They Have a big warehouse in Brendale) and with my keen detective work I converted the clever acronym of CE_Clearance, who AFAIK is a distributor for Philips in AUS. So for those dubious souls who don't believe eBay comments (mainly me) It should be a smooth transaction. Plus if it isn't, I know a guy…(who works there)

  • Received my pair yesterday. Really nice headphones.

By far the most comfortable headphones I have ever tried.

Quality in sound is really good, my TMA-1's ($250 - $300 headphones) are definitely better though.

Perfect headphones for day to day use. For $60, unbelievable deal.
