  Not a bargain; any number of open-source, freeware alternatives are way better.

  DVD Shrink for one (which is what Nero's own Nero Recode is based on).

  Also there's DVD Rebuilder and DVD Flick.

  Though if you're serious nothing beats Cinema Craft Encoder (paid); the Photoshop of transcoding software.

  Once you are on the bitsdujour mailing list. You still receive emails after you unsubscribe from their mailing list, meaning you will then receive unsolicited emails from them. Essentially this is spam.

  Negging as they are using this software to try to spam you using a mailing list that does not unsubscribe you when you want.
