One use code only, I think. How did you get the code in the first place? That's where the deal is.

  • Says my account is AU only, do I need to make a US account too?

    • You can change your account from AU to US if you have no credit?
But mine does, so i had to make a new account…

  • The link automatically opens in on iphone's itunes store and code is automatically inserted in there. But it says code is only valid for US customers…

you will need a vpn on your crap phone. try hideman or hotspotshield

    • Try signing out of your iTunes account?

  • Got it thanks! Just was logged on my US account and the new link worked like a charm!

The US workaround takes some time. Time I don't intend wasting. So I'm stuck with Australian app store, because of this I haven't spent nearly as much on apps as the sales in the US store often don't apply often to the Oz store (it could be argued if I wasn't aware of the cheaper sales I would be more likely to pay full/inflated price; but I am). No games are compelling enough to play if it makes you feel cheated/got a bad deal. Wise up Apple.

    • How i did it?

      1. Sign out of my Australian account
      2. Click the Australian flag
      3. Click on the American flag
      4. Click Redeem
      5. Sign into my American account
      6. Paste code
      7. Click Redeem

And yet you just spent 5 minutes writing up a complaint to Apple of which they'll never see…

I tend not to get too bent out of shape over a few dollars. I used to have a US account but converted it to an Australian account a couple of years ago. When I stock up with discounted iTunes cards it works about the same price as the US.

It is actually up to the developers which market they sell into or give specials on, not Apple. Hopefully in the future there will be one combined AppStore for the world, but these things move slowly.

acrappyoldman can keep his Android loving. I wouldn't switch over just for some apps I could pay a few dollars for.

      • Thanks for your story, I should look to buying those discounted cards. They had one promotion (half price) at HN a few weeks ago but only for two days on the weekend. Keeping my eyes for the next one on OB.

  • worked like a charm! thanks!

  • Cool, thanks for the tip :)

  • Just went to my settings and changed country and whatever else needed. It just finished downloading then. Thanks :)

    • Can't chnage the country setting if you have credit .. damn HN deals.

  • It works! Thank you op!

  • Nice one buddy! Worked like a charm…

  • Cheers for the link
