"These make great gifts for nephews"

Ooohhhh you are going to have some angry members of the world champion Southern Stars womens cricket team walking around Fairfield with bats in hand looking for you!

Better pick yourself up a box to protect your stump and two leather balls or you are going to need a batting glove to take care of your off stump!

    • he did said nephews not nieces

      • Exactly, he forgot to mention nieces! I'm pretty sure the women's team would give the men's a run for their money at the moment!

I was under the impression that he was saying australian men cricket is so bad that it would not matter if they use kmart bat/equipment. I think you misunderstood that point.

That why nieces was not included. I believe they deserve high end willow bat for their future success :P

        • Exactly, he forgot to mention nieces!

When I was writing this I knew someone would pick up on it :)

why nieces was not included. I believe they deserve high end willow bat for their future success

          Haha spot on!

It's all in good fun guys

I have a $500 cricket bat which I have to apply oil to and use it to play competition grade cricket. I can assure you these bats would not be suitable for you because they are not suitable for me.

If I used this kit around my Saturday Morning Latte Cricket Club they would point and laugh at me. This is another rrason why you shouldn't buy it. The maintenance on this cricket set would be huge and you would no doubt have to go and purchase something better. Don`t buy it! Using these bats is downright dangerous!

For the sake of your sanity I hope you are joking.

      • I doubt he is joking considering criket bats can get really $$$$. Plus its comp grade.

      • +11

Of course I was bloody joking. I was trying to draw a parallel between the Saturday Morning Latte cyclists who tell everyone not to buy cheap bikes. Obviously that humour was far too sophistacated for this board - so in order to lighten the mood - 'Ainol' HAHAHA!

        • You're still getting negged even you clarified it as a joke. Shame on those who neg and don't have a sense of humour! I +1 your joke hopefully it won't be -4 for long

Are these the same people that I laugh at when I drive past and see them standing out in the middle of the local cricket field in their whites all weekend in the middle of summer?

      • LOL, it always reminds me of that old Noel Coward song: "Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noonday sun." :)

These bats are for hitting tennis balls, surely no one who plays grade cricket is going shopping for equipment at K Mart

Great for kids to muck around with in the backyard

  • Just think. With the amount paid to the Australian cricket team, we could put one of these bats into the hands of every kid in Australia.

  • +1

Just for the record, the full size one is not too bad. I've been using one for a few months to bash back my kid's fast bowls in the practice nets. The handle hasn't snapped off, unlike his $40 bat that was a name brand.

    • Did you oil the bat? I picked one up for my boy when he grows up but the willow seems a bit dry.

  • that's marvellous

  • My local Kmart (Kardinya, WA) had about 10 the Aerial Harrow Cricket Set left today (Wednesday 24/04).
