Confused... Best 10inch Android tablet?

I am struggling a little with the mess on information available. Someone at work wants to get a tablet with the following key specs:

10 inch
android
must have 3G
not a bargain model - something relatively high end

but I can't seem to figure out which one would be the best. price over 500 is OK, not after the cheapest one around. I thought the Samsung's would be winners, but the processor on the tab2 seems very weak, and the screen on the note 10.1 seems dated.

Whats the most important, is there general consensus? Any other recommendations ?

    Either the sony xperia z tablet (out soon) or the google nexus 10.

    If you need one immediately get the nexus 10 let the above guys have said otherwise wait for a galaxy tab 3 when it is out.

    Nexus 10 is the best, but there is no 3G model.

    Not much choice with Android 10in 3G tablets, I'd go for the Asus Transformer TF300 of Infinity, though it is hard to find stock.

    If you want onboard 3G then check out the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 3G.

    I currently have in the house the following:
    -HP Touchpad (was wifes, now retired to young kids and running CynogenMod)
    -Asus Transformer Prime 64gb (TF201 with keyboard, and on Jelly Bean)
    -2x Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 16gb (Jelly Bean update, 1 for the wife and one for my eldest kid)

    The TF201 is great and admittedly i rarely use the keyboard.

    The latest SG Note 10.1 are pretty quick and whilst the resolution could be better, it has not had any impact on usability and the S-pen will be useful for the wife and eldest kid who is in primary school as they both like to take notes and this device gives them that!

    Why not simply tether with a mobile or use your home wifi?

    thanks, I convinced him to go Nexus 10 and use the tethering option. woohoo. Now I am jealous and might need to buy one as well…
