There's a few places selling for $530-$540 delivered, wouldn't call saving $10 an excellent deal, just the cheapest by a few dollars. And it's Eglobal. Ugh..

    • Isn't that what OZBargain is all about? :) And can you tell me whom is more reputable than Eglobal selling for under the $540 delivered that you mentioned?

      • Anyone/anything is more reputable than Eglobal/DWI….

I think they are pretty reputable for camera equipments, just not so reliable when it come to phones and other stuff

Yes for delivery maybe. Not for warranty though. Been following the whirlpool thread for a while in regards to warranty claims. Best case scenario is they ship your faulty product back to you after months of daily attempts to contact them.

Worst case is they completely ignore you and say they never received the product you sent back…and don't offer the refund.

I bought my rx100 a few weeks ago from eglobal for a few bucks more than this. The service was fine and dhl were very accommodating. I had it in my hands within the week. Excellent camera too.

don't want to take anything away from this deal its good.

But how do these cameras compare for bang for buck?

Canon EOS-M US$399 (drop shipper required unknown cost $50?)

Panasonic DMC-GF3 dual kit $498 (price has just gone up to $578)

As a owner of the RX100 and also owning a dlsr with a number of lenses, the RX100 brings the joy back into my photography in its most simplistic way. It is so much fun to have a compact and easy to use camera that doesn't compromise photo quality.
For a person who doesn't know how to use a dslr it does seems expensive but I do think the automatic modes on the camera are just flawless and would make an avg person's photos look fantastic.
For the DLSR owner it is a god sent and is definitely bang for buck, in the sense that you you don't have to log around a 1kg+ camera around the neck standing out like a sore thumb when taking "natural" shots. The RX100 is super silent and practically unnoticeable when you are trying to capture that moment. Don't get me wrong, it isn't as good as a set of prime lens but the photo quality is comparable to a kit lens/third party lenses.

the cameras that you linked are good but as a package the RX100 is better because it is complete (you don't need to buy more for the photos to be better) for most people shooting where as those other cameras would only be an equivalent if you were to spend more money on more expensive lens to attain the same results. So IF you appreciate good quality photos then it is worth every penny IMO.

What do you mean other cameras require you to buy more? The Canon comes with a f2.0 lens and the Panasonic has an additional lens included. What are you talking about?

We know you have the camera and recommend it but please try and be objective as you advice seems pointless?

    • Canon EOS-M US$399 (drop shipper required unknown cost $50?)

      Do you mean a reshipper?

      • -1

yes the Canon can only be shipped within the US…. I've done some Research the Canon is 2x the price locally and apart from an issue with slow auto focus I think it is the best camera.

AF speed is extremely important. Pros pay thousands more on faster accurate AF.

  • How does this camera compare to say a Nikon J1? Is it comparable?
