$100 Price drop. Typical retail $199, lowest price previously seen, $178.

Quad core, 7 inch HD display, 1Gb RAM, 16Gb storage and microSd expansion (up to 32Gb), Android 4.2

Similar (slightly inferior) specs as the 2012 Google Nexus but with microSD slot. Both are capable tablets, especially if all you need is something to browse the web, check emails, watch movies and read ebooks.

Range of colors available - blue, green, grey, pink and white

Short summary of reviews :
A tablet that punches above its weight (at the retail price of $199) with an excellent screen and great battery life
Mediocre camera (but who really buys a tablet for its camera???)

I think its a great buy for $99, and from an established manufacturer, but i'll leave it open for the community to discuss =)

      That's what I was told by a customer service rep. I called to confirm before placing my order and will be calling the store first thing in the morning so that I don't end up with a pink cover :D

Picked up mine today from Harvey Norman after ordering on-line last night. Just went there and provided them the order number. Didn't wait for "order ready to pick up" email. They processed my order in store. Tab built quality is awesome and pretty impressive graphics as well. overall worth spending $99. Can someone please provide links of covers available for this tab.

    It seems very slightly bigger than the Nexus 7 2012. I noticed the buttons, headphone plug, speaker etc were in different positions so stopped trying to make my Nexus 7 2012 cover fit.

    I wouldnt say they are parasites that is way OTT.
    I have done it myself before, bought two of an item and flogged the spare on eBay. Many would have done that before without pulling a higher than thou sook about it. Ebay is is a free marketplace. If people are happy with a deal they buy, if not they dont. Simple as that.
    Lets look properly at it:

    Sells at and average of $160
    Minus fees eBay $ 16
    PayPal $ 6
    Tracked Postage $ 12

    ————
    So a $99 outlay for a "profit" of $27?

    Actually you have a choice. Check the catalogue. It says "Bonus Asus Cover Valued from $29RRP".
    
    At the bottom of the page in the terms and conditions it lists all the model numbers of covers you can choose from. Included are TransCover (valued at $44) and Persona (valued at $29).

      I went back to my GG and they swapped it for a nice grey TransCover. They didn't have the catalogue on hand so they spent a bit of time trying to read the tiny fine print on the web catalogue.

      Really depends on who your dealing with. I had a nice guy who brought out the extra colours for me. It's worth a shot though! Call them up just so you don't waste time travelling back and forth.

      The store I picked up from knew nothing of the free case. I had to get them to look at the catalogue. After that it was plain sailing, and I had my choice of 4 colours of TransCovers priced up at $44. It really is a nice case too, even turns off the screen when you close the cover.
      
      You cannot blame the staff though, they said when something is free it usually automatically comes up on the computer. Either there was no communication of this deal to them - or the computer system was lacking the info.
      
      All in all, a good small tablet for the Mrs - and a decent branded case for $99. Very happy with that.

Hi all just joined this site. My 9 yr old daughter wanted to get a new tablet her old thomson one was starting to pack up. Went to HN and was told they dont have any but can offer me a better deal, Asus tablet and 32GB memory card and 1 yrs anti virus for $188.   I deliberated over it because I know that I won't use it very often to justify the purchase. I was going to use it mainly to view guitar tabs in ASCII format to learn new songs. It's a boring and simple function, but I already have enough devices to fill my craving of multimedia/youtube, games and apps, to justify having a tablet as a novelty device. Wait a bit longer and we'll get an Octa-core with a 4K display for this price! :)

Thank you reptile for making this post and to all others who updated us on the offer I managed to order one through GG and thank goodness the harvey norman site was not working(they only had green and pink. Hence I manged to get the transcover ($44 RRP) instead of the ($29 one). From Sydney so my order got allocated to GG townsville QLD, I called them first thing in the morning to choose a cover although they said i needed to email photo id. i paid $99 + $5 shipping which worked out to be $104 but got a free cover thanks to the numerous beneficial posts.

If anyone is interested you can root this thing with framaroot. I installed the OTA update first then did the framaroot, I don't know if it will work without the OTA update.
